"Froggy" is finished thank god, my DS didn't want him to have shorts which was fine by me as I'm so bored of it now 😂
The second I handed it over to DS, he gave him a kiss with a biscuit filled mush so the frog is already dirty 🙄😭😂

@lazylinguist

Finished my cowl!
The colours are lovely and really autumnal. Today we've had burning sunshine and hail, not sure what is going on with the weather.

sophs froggy is really sweet. Can see why your DS was very excited by it.

sophs29 · 19/05/2021 20:38

Thank you @InTheNightWeWillWish Smile

MerylSqueak · 20/05/2021 09:15

He is a lovely froggy. Has he got a name yet?

Love the colour s in that cowl Lazy, especially the blue.

I like the blanket just as it is personally but it would look nice either way. Tizwoz

Well done for finishing all those WIPS!

lucysmam · 20/05/2021 10:08

sophs froggy's fab!

Lazy your cowl looks great. Dd1 gave me a furry one for Christmas, it's really warm.

I'm just wondering if I could turn the octopus into a dino if I add just 4 legs, & some spines, and a cone-ish tail 🤔 I haven't got any dino colours though & have stalled slightly with a cuppa 🤷‍♀️

sophs29 · 20/05/2021 11:08

@MerylSqueak my DS has literally just called him 'Froggy' 😂 he's 3 and doesn't quite understand names yet I don't think! When I ask the names of his friends at nursery he just says 'my boys and my girls' 😂

MerylSqueak · 20/05/2021 11:20

Oh lord! Our house was awful for that when the kids were tiny. We have a catty, a Mousie, pinky pinky, medium catty, tiny cat.......

MerylSqueak · 20/05/2021 11:20

Meryl Squeak is pretty good though...

CrochetBug · 20/05/2021 12:23

DS1 (aged 16) still sleeps with the imaginatively named "Donkey" who is, unbelievably, a donkey Grin
He also has a large collection of cuddly giraffes called things like Stretchy and Long Neck Grin

I think Froggy is the perfect name for a frog.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 20/05/2021 15:09

Lovely finished objects everyone!

Lol about the biscuity kiss sophs29 at least you know he's a hit Grin

I've barely had 10 mins together the last week or so, so I've managed a couple of rounds and that's about it. At least it's cold enough now that I can break out all the winter jumpers again so I'm wearing knitwear even if I'm not making it! 🥶

lucysmam · 21/05/2021 18:20

My Google Drive's annoying me today. I think I've finally settled on "For..." as a big CAL to make for myself & it won't upload part 6. It says "waiting for network" even though I'm using the same home Wi-fi I alwayd do Confused

I’ve been very meh about my current WIPs recently. My patterns either require too much concentration and I just can’t focus on them or they’re too boring and I just can’t get excited about them. So I’ve been doing some baby bibs this week, which are kinda in the middle. I had a go and coming up with my own bib and I’m quite pleased with it to be honest Blush. The monster one is someone else’s pattern and the elephant one is my attempt. I might redo the trunk, I’m not sure it’s quite right! I’m not sure how practical either of these bibs will be or if they’ll even a baby but I’ve had fun doing them!

I like them InTheNight. Maybe slightly wider ears on the elephant? I think the trunk's ok as it is. Oooh, and tusks! Elephants are one of my favourite animals 🐘 (or ignore me getting carried away!)

InTheNightWeWillWish · 21/05/2021 21:12

lucysmam I did think about tusks but it feels like the elephants face has quite a bit going on. Obviously, elephants do have a lot going on on their face, and that’s not their fault and actually makes them quite lovely. I’m just a bit worried it’s all centred in one areas then. I might make a couple of little tusks and see how they look. I’ll probably end up trialling some dc or slip stitch round the ears to see what they look like.

I like elephants. They’re so lovely. They were my grandma’s favourite animal, so I want to get it right for her. She was always dropping food on her (I’ve inherited that trait) so I think she’d have made me size it up for adult sizes Grin

lucysmam · 21/05/2021 21:20

I wonder if you moved the ears so they're slightly over the edge, then add tusks, might it be less busy?

sophs29 · 21/05/2021 22:25

Oh @InTheNightWeWillWish they're adorable!!

InTheNightWeWillWish · 22/05/2021 08:28

Thanks sophs and lucysmam. I’ll have a play round with it tomorrow. I can’t do any crochet today as I’m going out Shock I’m seeing my mum for the first time today since the week before lockdown. We’re doing a 2 hr drive and she’s doing similar to meet sort of halfway in a country park. It’ll be the first time she’s met the puppy (who is 9 months old). Our older dog is going to be beside herself. All obedience will be out of the window today Grin. I can’t give her a hug because I’ve not had my jab and she’s in a high risk area but I’m going to give her a scan photo so hopefully that’ll make up for it.

MerylSqueak · 22/05/2021 10:42

@InTheNightWeWillWish ok lovely! I hope the rain holds off for you

lucysmam · 22/05/2021 11:06

Have a brilliant day InTheNight! It sounds like your dogs will Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 22/05/2021 14:41

Thanks merylsqueak the rain held out long enough, we’d managed a walk and had lunch. Conveniently it started trying to rain as we’d got back near the car park and toilets so we stocked up on drinks and called it a day. Still managed to get in 12,000 steps!

lucymam they absolutely did. We have a very tired Labrador now who has stretched out across the backseat and is snoring away. The way there he was sat in the middle of the back seat looking out every window to see where we were going.

Ah bless Grin he does look comfy there 😴

lucysmam · 22/05/2021 21:21

Today's little make is Octavia the octopus, for dd1. I'm quite pleased with her :)

Hello all! Just popping in to say hi. I've got my parents staying (at last!) so I'm not around much, but managed to get some more jumper done. They're leaving today, so I'll catch up with the thread later!
