Woolly Garlands for Cupoftea's beautiful girls. Knitters and crocheters needed.

You may have been following the progress of Cupoftea?s beautiful daughter, Beatrice Primrose.
This project is to make garlands for Cupoftea?s daughters, to include the flowers in all their names and other lovely things. We would appreciate your help.

The idea is to make some garlands similar to this woolly one.

However, we would like to include the following:

Bees for Beatrice
Primroses
Violets and Daisies for Beatrice?s sisters
Flowers
Any decorative motifs
Triangular bunting that we can stitch crochet motifs onto (size to be confirmed)

If you are a knitter wanting to make bunting, garter stitch is preferable as it will lie flatter.

Unlike the blanket projects, these woolly things can be made from any wool.

I will post more details including sizes and links to patterns shortly.

Please sign up if you?d like to contribute.

Umami, those flowers look lovely. I've made a note of the patterns! Stick a smile and feelers on the Hawaiian flower and we'll call it a butterfly Grin

Go, Jules, Go!

You don't need circular needles to make a bunt.

Nowt wrong with a basic knitter, my lovely!

Soupy can you link to a pattern for the bee?

I've done 2 triangles, one with a sort of clematis, and one with 3 little african violet type flowers, I should be able to manage a bee over the weekend.

Ophelia, join Ravelry. It's free. There are bee patterns on there.

KnottyLocks · 06/10/2011 07:29

You'll probably end up making more than bees after being on that site!

I have bee envy Envy

DillyTante · 06/10/2011 21:27

Hello, knotty, can you PM me with postage details? I've made a few basic flowers using this pattern. Does that look ok?

OpheliaBumps · 06/10/2011 21:44

Having seen Soupy's bee, I'm not sure if I dare show you mine, it's a very poor relation!

It's on my profile, together with the 2 bunts with flowers on.

I might get a few more flowers or bunts done over the weekend, then I'll post them early next week.

OpheliaBumps · 06/10/2011 21:48

PS, you were right Knotty. Apparently I will also be knitting a mermaid, according to DTD, who saw the mermaid ('Ooh look, moomaid, likey moomaid Mummy!') on Ravelry while I was looking for a bee pattern Grin

KnottyLocks · 06/10/2011 22:09

Dilly, I'll PM you. That pattern looks great

Ophelia, they are lovely Smile
Good luck with the moomaid Grin

Wow, Soupy and Ophelia, they're lovely.

I'm feeling a bit Envy since spending time this afternoon discovering I can't crochet flowers, or follow a pattern - I must look up the meanings of the terms. All my flowers today were completely round.

Nice to see yours for inspiration though Smile

KnottyLocks · 06/10/2011 22:35

I'm posting a link to the new bvlanket project we're doing in case any of you would like to join up Blanket for Chipmonkey

Please, please, please, do not feel you have to: it's only if you can, if you'd like to. Smile

KnottyLocks · 07/10/2011 09:10

Mumatron,

Your knitter is already knitting for Chipmonkey. If you PM Piste on the blanket thread I've just linked to, she'll match you up with another knitter. Thanks. Star

Thanks Knotty my son is quite attached to his "brother" Thanks
I tried your pattern but struggled... think I had the wrong hook/yarn and this is where I went wrong in round 1:
[2 ch, 4 tr in ring, twice] 1 ch, dc into top of first 3 ch
Confused

KnottyLocks · 08/10/2011 05:47

Sorry...I typed that pattern out very quickly.

You should have a ring of what looks like 3 sets of 4 trebles.

Now I've forgotten what I was going to say.........!

KnottyLocks · 08/10/2011 08:44

Bed late and up early. Not ideal!
