Title says it all really.
Tell me about the lovely things you have been making, any craft. Pictures/Ravelry links would be great.
I like to crochet but I've found myself in a bit of a rut and want to be inspired and find some motivation to make something, even if its a totally different craft.

Share away.

Don't get much chance to be creative these days but I have made DS a dinosaur hooded towel, DS & his bf matching spotted cooking aprons, DS's party bags (9 little spotted fabric backpacks - it was a teddy bears picnic) in the past few months.
Crafts on hold at moment as I'm currently illustrating a book with images suitable for DS's Bf who is partially sighted... Really rewarding but taking longer than I planned

Wow wonkylegs, sounds like you have actually been quite busy indeed!

Niecie well done on the sewing machine acquisition, the fair sounds great too- I found some incredible photos of the Tokyo quilting festival over the years, insanely detailed and beautiful work. True artistry!

coldcomfortHeart · 17/06/2011 19:12

And thanks moomininthecorner- yes I want to get Christmas out of the way WELL ahead of time!

moominthecorner · 17/06/2011 21:56

Good grief wonkylegs what do you get up to when you ARE being creative?!?!

overmydeadbody · 17/06/2011 23:12

cloudpuff sorry I only just saw your question! Maybe I'm just kidding myself but I don't consider sewing to be an expensive hobby (I am also a climber and climbing really is an expensive hobby).

I think with sewing you can control how expensive or not it is, and how much money you invest into it. For me, I make things that I might otherwise buy, and I source cheap fabric (but not bad quality cheap, good quality reduced or taken from other clothes I buy from charity shops). You can be thrifty and sew and then it is cheap, or you can buy designer fabric and then it will cost a bomb.

I bought my machine second hand off Ebay for £30 (I year old and costing hundreds new) and I bug thread and other finishings in bulk off Ebay rather than one offs from John Lewis (e.g I bought 100 zips from Ebay for £6, if you buy them individually they cost £2-£4 per zip from John Lewis.

I sew clothes for DS that I would otherwise have to buy, his shorts for example cost about £6 each, so that to me is cheap.

Sewing things for friends for presents is cheaper than buying them presents, so to me, it is not an expensive hobby.

wonkylegs · 19/06/2011 07:40

moomininthecorner lol I guess it's all relative, I've got loads of ideas bubbling away but never seem to have the time to do them, now I'm working FT
I work in a creative profession but the further I get up the career ladder the more I don't do the creative stuff Sad so I guess it's just frustrated creativeness bursting out Blush

OnlyWantsOne · 19/06/2011 09:23

I'm officially crazy in attempting a sock-yarn scrap blanket given the amount of free time I actually have, but it is growing slowly!

cloudpuff · 19/06/2011 13:42

You are all talented ladies, I think I will have to get myself a sewing machine.

I am sooo jealous of the stitchy corner, I really need something like that, DP has just chewed my favourite stitch marker thinking it was "some piece of crap laying around".

Keep posting your wonderful items.
