If you can knit AT ALL could you please CAT either of us?

We are making a blanket present with a Mn connection and would love as many people as feel willing and able to contribute a 15cm square, plain or fancy as you like, in cotton double knitting yarn. We can help with sourcing suppliers.

It's a surprise for the person in question, so please, please contact us for more info rather than make guesses etc on here...it's in an extremely good cause.

fab! could you recommend a cotton DK yarn (I usually use cheapo acryclics )

mummytosteven, there are quite a few cotton DKs you could try- Roawn do Cotton Glace, and there are Sirdar and Jaeger pure cottons. Anything would be fine really

I have some cotton glace and thought it was a little finer than dk

It is a bit finer than DK, but I think as long as it comes to 15 cm it won't matter if it's slightly finer, will it? It really has to be the same fibre to wash, and roughly the same thickness I guess. The Debbie Abrahams blcnket book uses cotton glace and dk interchangeably. Am worried now as that's what I was going to use....

i've got rowan dk which i know is a little thicker than bog-standard dk cottons...but will stick to the dimensions

Me too re the two yarns tamum but agree with bundle that the Rowan dk is on the chubby side.
Am also sticking to dimensions. I think the difference is so slight it won't matter too much...

I don't mind sewing up when I can use mattress stitch up the seams but anywhere else... eek!
