Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities (tmfr). Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.
@Seahawk80 that's wonderful news!

@SemiFeralDalek how are you? How did the inquest go? Hope you're holding up okay xx
The inquest was OK, absolutely gut wrenching but thankfully fairly short. It was over zoom. I could only see the coroners chair but there was a journalist there, presumably as a matter of course in case of wrongdoing or whatever but it really shook me and felt completely intrusive. It broke my heart.

It looks like I'm having a MMC too. I should be 8+3 and I'm still measuring closer to 6 weeks, no heartbeat etc but my body hasn't recognised that there's been no progression and so hasn't rejected it yet. I have another scan in a week, best and final offer style. I'm so disappointed. Thank you for asking.

How are you feeling kiki ?

Kiki275 · 22/06/2021 21:11

@SemiFeralDalek a journalist!! I can only imagine how upsetting that must have been. I hope everything got answered that you needed? To go through an MMC at the same time must be overwhelming.
I hope you're taking lots of time to yourself and taking care. Have you much support at home?x

Seahawk80 · 22/06/2021 21:14

@SemiFeralDalek a journalist wouldn't be something I'd even think to expect. Sounds like a really horrible time for you. I'm so sorry you are going through a MMC it's the last thing you need. I found my miscarriage last summer so hard, just as hard as my TMFRs, even though it was early I felt like it was so unfair and so horrible to have no reason for it Thanks

Alice40p · 22/06/2021 22:46

@Seahawk80 that’s great news!
@SemiFeralDalek I have been thinking about you. That is really intrusive having a journalist! A MMC on top of everything is so hard! Take good care of yourself!
@Kiki275 31 weeks! That’s lovely that you don’t have that long to go now!

No1worrier · 23/06/2021 08:31

Thank you so much for all your replies, my FRERs are progressing nicely and I got my 1-2 weeks on my digital. I think it's finally sinking in I am indeed pregnant.

I've told my partner and he is over the moon, so happy and excited, wish I could share his enthusiasm! I have told him I don't want to overly talk about this pregnancy until we know everything is okay. I'm scared to get too attached then my heartbroken once again.

Although I rarely comment in this forum I read it daily and I will be taking on board the advice you gave others. Like working on getting to certain milestones etc. My main one being the anomaly scan and getting by the 23 week mark. Right now I will focus on the little ones like day of AF passing etc.

I'm genuinely glad I have this forum to get me through this!

Do any of pregnant ladies suffer from hayfever? Are we allowed any of the antihistamines? Mine is bad at the moment and I’m trying to reach my GP.

Kiki275 · 24/06/2021 10:51

@Alice40p I don't have hay fever but was told in a previous pregnancy there were none I could take to help with an itchy rash.
I know on my August bus there are some that do take them, I'll try and find what. If you can't reach your GP, try the pharmacy as they should be able to help x

Kiki275 · 24/06/2021 10:54

Loratidine & Cyclizine have been mentioned but definitely check with a pharmacist xx

Seahawk80 · 24/06/2021 11:23

@Alice40p no suggestions I'm afraid but feel your pain, I never had hay fever until it started gradually 6 years ago. This year my eyes are unbearably itchy. It's horrible. Last night I put cucumber slices on them at 4am! Do let me know if you find out what you can take.

Alice40p · 24/06/2021 13:02

@Kiki275*,*@Seahawk80 , thanks. Just got through to my GP. She says none of them are really recommended for pregnancy. She said she had bad hayfever while pregnant too and just to do steam inhalation with 2 drops of olbus oil. I could hardly sleep last night!

Seahawk80 · 24/06/2021 18:25

Thanks @Alice40p that's not really going to cut it! DH is bringing me some optrex hay fever eye drops as my eyes are my worst symptom. Hopefully today is just really bad. I met up with a friend and she couldn't stop sneezing!

URMysunshine4 · 26/06/2021 08:45

My gp prescribed me with beconase for hayfever with my first pregnancy which took the edge of the symptoms.

Other things I’ve heard of -
Vaseline around the nostrils
Local honey

I hope you can get some relief xx

Alice40p · 26/06/2021 14:55

Thanks @URMysunshine4 my GP has given me a nose spray too but it doesn’t help much. I’m using Vaseline. The steam inhalation with olbus oil helped a bit.

Seahawk80 · 27/06/2021 21:45

How was everyone's weekend? I'm exhausted after DS party but I made my dinosaur cake ha ha! Have a quiet week coming up so have lots of time to worry about the harmony results. I've stayed really busy so far since the scan. I know it all looked fine but worry def creeping in.

@Seahawk80 that looks fab! I bet he loved it 😍
Staying busy is a good idea, don't put too much pressure on yourself though. Hope the results come through soon x

URMysunshine4 · 28/06/2021 18:26

That cake looks yummy @Seahawk80, I love the topper too! It’s my little girl’s 4th birthday at the similar time for when my 12 week scan will be too.

My morning sickness has ramped up, I just feel sick all day, last time not letting myself get hungry seemed to help but this time nothing is shifting it yet. Thankfully I am working from home and my OH is doing the majority round the house.
Does anyone have any tips? Xx

Seahawk80 · 30/06/2021 12:35

Got our harmony results and all good! Feel a mix of relief - and worry about something else being wrong. It's just the way it's going to be I think.

@URMysunshine4 I found sugary stuff made me way worse. Also cold foods helped, ice lollies, fruit, yogurt - although they are sugary they were ok. But basically little and often, savoury foods and cold things helped me through! I'd def recommend not giving yourself too much to do for the party too!

Kiki275 · 30/06/2021 12:51

@Seahawk80 that's great news!!

@URMysunshine4 I wasn't struck down with sickness, just a nauseous feeling. I literally ate everything beige. Would sucking on ice cubes help? Just to keep you hydrated?x

URMysunshine4 · 30/06/2021 18:46

That’s great news regarding your harmony results @Seahawk80

I was going to throw a party for my little ones birthday but have decided on a family meal instead, just to take the pressure off a bit.

Thanks for the tips, I am living on toast, crackers and plain crisps, I have gone of anything sweet and coffee! I am really hoping it tapers off soon!

Alice40p · 30/06/2021 22:45

@Seahawk80 that’s great news! It is such a relief, isn’t it?
@URMysunshine4 sorry, I didn’t have this either. Perhaps smaller portions often would help.

Hi Ladies,

I had my appointment with the gynecologist on Monday to discuss our daughters post mortem. Basically confirmed everything we were told already at the fetal medicine unit but in more depth. Our genetic testing came back fine. This was purely a fluke and just bad luck. I was so so nervous!

After about an hour (he spent alot of time with us) I told him I was pregnant again. I am booked for a scan on the 14th July then we go from there. He's said whatever I want done I can get. I am also being scanned in a different part of the hospital where I had bad news to try and help my anxiety. I actually said to him I wish I didn't have to even go to the scans but I know I need to. Our daughter always measured behind from the very start which was a part of her condition, however they weren't concerned at the time until I was 21 weeks and had my scan that more things were obvious.

I'm trying my best to stay busy and keep my mind occupied for the next 12 days!

Kiki275 · 02/07/2021 22:03

@No1worrier I'm so pleased they are supporting you in this way. Those twelve days will simultaneously fly and be the longest ever. Keeping everything crossed for you. How many weeks will you be?x

I will be 6+5. So hopefully enough to see a little heartbeat at least, and hopefully dates add up too. I know being that early things can be slightly out so I will try and not panic too much if they are. I have ordered a book that I've seen recommended on a few forums called Pregnancy After Loss. Comes tomorrow so I will start reading that to hopefully help how I am feeling 🤞🏼

Sending love to all of you who may have been affected by the recent tmfr gestation limit related threads.

Hello again 🙂
I'm just checking in as it's been a while. I'm 7+3 now with no bleeding (yay) and minimal symptoms (I believe this to be a good sign for me).
I've got my first scan on Sunday so I'm praying to see that little heartbeat and pass that first milestone. It feels like the pregnancy is simultaneously dragging and flying by, its a weird feeling.
Hoping you all are well physically and mentally. Sending love to you all ❤
