@Treaclepie19 I'm not surprised you're feeling so anxious, this is such bad timing when you could do with extra support from the midwives if anything! Is your scan soon? Hopefully all being well you might feel a bit less stressed afterwards x

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2020 13:31

@1stbabs I know 😔 I've gone from being told I'd have lots of extra support to having lots less.
I know it's not fair to moan but we wouldn't have considered trying while things were in such a state.
My scan is wednesday so less than a week now at least. I'm hoping all will be well and I can relax a little bit.
I struggle with OCD as well so everything that's going on is tricky to balance.

@Treaclepie19 you're definitely allowed to have a little moan! Obviously hospitals are under a lot of pressure, but this is still going to be an anxious time for you. Hope this next week goes really quickly for you. You can always come on here and have a vent if you need to x

HungryPanda92 · 26/03/2020 13:46

@treaclepie19 sorry you're not feeling too well at the moment. I've been feeling queasy myself for the first time in 4 or 5 weeks. I don't know if it's the stress doing it for me but it's not fun.

Scan went well today. NT is 1.9 and baby measuring at 13+1. Feeling relieved but can't help but think about all the things that could still go wrong. Trying to be positive though.

Thank you @1stabs, it's great to have people who understand.

What lovely news @HungryPanda92! Glad all is looking well Smile

@HungryPanda92 glad to hear all is well with baby 😊

@Treaclepie19 I'm also concerned about urine tests - I used to be quite prone to UTI's so my midwife did say that I would do monthly urine samples. The surgery sent me home with a few cups/bags and I can just do them here and drop them off at reception. Maybe yours could do something similar if you're concerned?

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2020 14:25

@otterbaby yeah I think I'll speak to them and see what they can do. I've had a lot of utis in the past and not always with symptoms so I would like to know.

@HungryPanda92 great news 😊 x

Mangoandbroccoli · 26/03/2020 18:48

Fantastic news @HungryPanda92!! What a great pic too.

It's particularly tough right now isn't it @Treaclepie19? I agree that I think we're looking at going to scans by ourselves at the moment which is hard too. But remember what we all went through last year and how strong we've all been - we can do this! When I went for my SAFE test they offered to send off a urine sample for me as I've also had a UTI already. It would certainly be worth asking at your scan if they can take it then. Joked with DH that missing blood pressure is probably fine as pretty sure we can guarantee everyone's is through the roof without having to take it! 🙈

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2020 18:58

@Mangoandbroccoli you're totally right. I said that to my husband, I can deal with this because of what I've already had to deal with.
I'll see how things go. I'm just grateful my cold seems to be going away and it's less than a week now until my scan all being well Smile

ShootingStar2020 · 27/03/2020 21:32

@HungryPanda92 - gorgeous pic. So chuffed for you.

@Treaclepie19 - I really feel for you. Just so much to take in at the moment let alone with our needs and worries. The next few days will pass quickly and then it will be the scan.

I am off to bed. The tiredness has hit me today 😴❤️ Zzzzzzz night night all xxx

BooMamaBear · 28/03/2020 17:23

It's shit isn't it @Treaclepie19 i've got to go for my CVS on Tuesday alone which is horrible coz the needle going thru the abdominal wall hurts a bit and apart from the first time the last twice I've felt really sick afterwards!!
My DH has to look after DD just hope they can do it coz from my 7.5 week scan consultant thought my placenta maybe posterior which makes CVS more difficult!
I'm now 11+2 today!
Great news @otterbaby and @HungryPanda92 xx

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2020 17:49

@BooMamaBear I'm so sorry you're having to do that alone.
I must say I found the amnio quite painful. I hope it all goes smoothly for you Flowers

I'm currently having a stress about going on Wednesday anyway because of the contamination risk. I have OCD that's generally under control but this is testing it so I've got to be careful not to let it win.

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 28/03/2020 18:05

@Treaclepie19 -i get you but it must be really hard for you hun! I'm slightly worried too tho coz the foetal medicine department waiting room it a few seats all next to each other in a tiny corridor and last token all the seats were full we were literally all crammed in together so don't know whether they'll have been able to separate the seats a bit more! I'm proper stressed about Tuesday I have to not think about it but it's getting harder as it gets closer! Xxx

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2020 18:13

@BooMamaBear I've heard some people say they were told to go and wait in their car until they were phoned to go in so it might not be as bad as you think.

I'm just thinking about if I can use my phone after to ring DH and if I need to shower and get changed.
It's all such a mess in my head. I need to do as little as possible to keep it under control really so just use hand gel and get on with it.

OP posts:
otterbaby · 28/03/2020 18:29

@BooMamaBear like treacle said, we were asked to go wait in our car. They also took most of the chairs out of the waiting room, so you couldn't sit next to anyone even if you wanted to!

If it makes you feel any better, I had a posterior placenta for my last CVS and they had no issues at all. It's not a nice thing to do on your own though 😔

Mangoandbroccoli · 28/03/2020 18:41

Good luck @Treaclepie19 and @BooMamaBear! It's so tough going alone but you've got this.

@Treaclepie19 Try and focus only on the things you can control: washing your hands, not touching your face, using hand sanitiser and maybe some breathing exercises to help get you through? When I went for my SAFE test this week, the seats were positioned so that there was a 2m distance between each one and it was very quiet anyway, presumably because classes and more routine things are now cancelled.

BooMamaBear · 28/03/2020 18:54

Thanks @otterbaby -that's makes me feel a bit more hopeful - thing is tho my DH wasn't going to park at the hospital after dropping me off coz the parking near the hospital is awful there's never any room!! Xxx

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2020 19:33

@BooMamaBear you might find there isn't as much parking this time. Apparently the hospitals are pretty empty.

@Mangoandbroccoli yeah that's what I'll try and do. I'm thinking if I use the hand gel provided I should be okay to still use my phone to ring DH after... argh.

OP posts:
ShootingStar2020 · 29/03/2020 08:51

@Treaclepie19 - OCD on top of everything else is tough. Breathing exercises will help. If you can focus on the relief you will feel afterwards perhaps that will help? Wishing you lots of luck and love.

@BooMamaBear - not long to wait now. Make sure you take water with you if you felt sick afterwards before. Thinking of you.

6 weeks here and aside from tiredness and constipation (sorry - too much info at breakfast), I haven’t had any sickness yet. Waiting for that or maybe it won’t hit this time!

Have a good day all xxx

Treaclepie19 · 30/03/2020 10:41

Thanks @ShootingStar2020 :)
I think I'm going to just have to use the hand gel and try and keep calm.
It'll be when I get home I'll struggle. Plus I want to ring my husband and I'll worry I've contaminated my phone. Aaaaagh.

Glad you're feeling okay! Constipation going on here too 😩
I'm 13+1 today and still dry heaving half the day 😳

We got our blood results through this morning - 1 in 50,000 for Down, Edwards and Patau's. I feel like I can actually start embracing this pregnancy now - like our little baby has a chance. I feel a weird sense of relief mixed with grief for our daughter. Like it's unfair that she never had this chance. I think I'll be missing her a lot when we start hitting milestones like this.

Treaclepie19 · 30/03/2020 11:11

Lovely news @otterbaby 😊 I'm so pleased.
It's bound to bring back memories and grief. It's such a hard time Flowers

BooMamaBear · 31/03/2020 08:06

I'm totally crapping myself about this test today had it 3 times before but never on my own!! I'm more scared about the results tho -just the test makes my eyes water when the needle goes through my abdominal wall and I feel really bruised and sick after 😢 xx

Treaclepie19 · 31/03/2020 08:23

@BooMamaBear thinking of you. I remember that feeling. Tell the staff that you're feeling nervous and I'm sure they'll give you extra support. I know it's not the same 😔❤
