@Mini12 thinking about you today. I won't pretend it's not going to be a totally shit day but I do hope that now you find a way forward. I still think about my little one all the time and I wouldn't say I have "closure" but at least you can move forward to the next chapter. Your baby has never known anything but love and I hope that you can be kind to yourself and make some kind of peace that this is not your fault and you don't really have a choice. I just remember saying to my husband over and over "this just f**king sucks" and it does and I'm so sorry you are going through this but all I can hope is the worst is over and you can heal.

Sending you lots of hugs and will be thinking of you today. X x x

@Mini12 thinking of you today Flowers I’m not sure where you’re having your procedure but I think all of us on this thread who have been through it found the staff kind and compassionate and the awful situation wasn’t made any worse. I felt a great sense of relief afterwards that the ordeal was over (although of course it stays with me, nearly 3 months on).

In terms of TTC again, I was told it was safe straight away as soon as we felt ready (personally I’m not yet). However be warned your cycles might be a bit all over the place afterwards - mine have been out of whack.

How are you doing @Conorgog? Have you been in touch with the midwives yet? I was told by the screening midwife that if we get pregnant again I could have an extra scan at 8 weeks to date me accurately and then the NIPT as early as possible (I think 11 weeks?)

Thanks @DinoGreen I’m good, yes I had the same advice!

I received my booking appointment today - which is in two weeks, where I think I might possibly be 9 weeks by then - so have had to email them to ask to move it forward to next week. Let’s see!

I hope they can get you in quick @Conorgog.

Urgh I’m having a rough time with my periods since the TFMR. First one - heavy. Bled all the way from the TFMR up to the period. Second one - arrived only 21 days after the start of the first one (normal for me =28-30 days), lasted 11 days, moderately heavy for 4/5 days of that. Third one - started yesterday, after 29 days so thought hooray getting back on track, BUT horrendously heavy. My first few after DS was born were too so I guess I should have expected it, but it’s miserable - having to change night time pads every 2 hours today. Dreading bedtime Sad

@DinoGreen I'm so sorry :(
I've got the same problem. Crazily heavy periods since.
The dr prescribed me some tablets to lighten it but I just don't want to be taking anything.

@Treaclepie19 ugh that sucks that you’ve been having it too. Is it tranexamic acid you’ve been prescribed? I think it’s available over the counter now so I might pop into boots on my way to work and see if I can get some.

I hope you’re home and doing ok @Mini12 x

Sorry to hear that @Treaclepie19 and @DinoGreen 😔 As if you haven't been through enough! I don't know if this helps, but I bought some washable period pants from cheeky wipes when things were really bad and they were a life saver - much less hassle to wash than I'd initially thought and infinitely more comfortable than disposable pads. I was advised against using tampons until everything was back to normal but even now they'd be great as a back up on very heavy days.

@DinoGreen and @treaclepie19 that is such a drag. Heavy periods are a nightmare anyway but it is not nice having to wait for things to go back to normal. Hopefully things will settle soon.

I'm really crampy today and think my period is coming. I am trying to stay positive but it's not really working. Blah!

Morning all,

@JO138 how you feeling, when is your period due?! For some reason I think Wednesday? Fingers And toes still very crossed - you’ve done it twice you can do it again!

@DinoGreen how are you doing, has the bleeding slowed for you?

@Mini12 hope your okay, your in my thoughts.

@Treaclepie19 are you in TWW? How you feeling?!

I have tried to change my appointment at hospital, was on hold for 30 minutes trying to get through on appointment line, Then gave up and sent an email to the appointment dept - if I don’t hear by next Thursday (when I think I will be almost 8 weeks) I might just book myself in at the FMC on Harley Street and do that £400 package which includes viability & harmony test At 10 weeks - and Then Nuchal scan at 12 weeks.

Would probably flag Nuchal scan as I want to be in NHS system if I need a cvs again.

Still have no ‘symptoms’. So who knows whats going on. - partially why I want an early scan!

Anyway, hope y’all have a nice, relaxed weekend. X

Morning @conorgog. I did another test this morning. BFN. Feeling like it still could happen because I remember with the last one I did a test I think on the weekend which was negative then got a positive the day after I missed on the Wednesday or so. So fingers still crossed. But reality is I think it's not going to happen this month. My period is due on Wednesday so hoping it just still too early to test....... Confused

@Mini12 I hope you are doing ok. X.

@JO138 tooooo early to test ha ha, but know the feeling, and def did it myself.

I have recently educated myself (thanks mumsnet) on the different test strengths, and realised some are super sensitive like 10mlU and some are much less sensitive - CB digital which are 25mlU...

Fingers very much crossed!

@Conorgog I am! 5dpo today so trying to keep busy. I'm nervous and already preparing myself for a BFN.
We didn't manage to dtd after my peak arrived, just the day of and day before.

@treaclepie19 fingers crossed! It's really hard! I am already looking to next month thinking "ugh, that's a lot of midweek to try and dtd" hahahaha.

@conorgog I went a bit mad at Boots. Got 2 first response (both BFN) now I have 2 CB early detection and 1 CB digital! Cost me a bloody fortune. Going to try and restrain myself now until at least Wednesday until AF arrives by then. Last month I knew it was coming because I was really crampy 1 or 2 days before but I've already been crampy for a week so I just don't know. Hmm

Mangoandbroccoli · 12/10/2019 10:43

@Conorgog Hopefully no symptoms is actually a good thing! I had none at all with my now 3 year old and all went smoothly. Was convinced midwife was going to tell me I was making it all up!

Period due either Tuesday or Friday for me (ov dates moved around a bit) but I've been watching my temps come crashing down so just hoping it comes quickly so I can move on to the next cycle!

DinoGreen · 12/10/2019 17:12

I had no symptoms with either pregnancy either!

I went round three different branches of Boots yesterday in search of tranexamic acid I could buy over the counter and all were out of stock - the last one said it is probably a supply issue on their OTC product but that I could get it prescribed - well by the time I can get to the GP my period will be long finished! Luckily the bleeding has got much lighter today, phew.

Good luck @JO138, if you’re not due until Wednesday there’s still a chance.

I am so flipping crampy tonight. Right across my lower stomach. Honestly like my period is coming but I'm only cd20. Wondering if its going to be a really short cycle this month.

Oh @DinoGreen that's crap. Definitely get some for next month ❤

So started bleeding last night then passed some (tmi?) big clots. Think that’s it - I’m okay, feel a bit gutted - but then I felt something wasn’t quite right anyway - late positive pregnancy tests, no symptoms etc (when really felt being pregnant in last pregnancies).

Contemplating going to the EPU today but sort of can’t be bothered - what happens when you miscarry? Do you get scanned to confirm it’s all gone - and if so is that a few days after the event? Really don’t want to sit around pregnant people waiting.

Tying to be positive (so far it’s been easy to actually getting pregnant) but also feel a bit angry and frustrated. Feck it all!

@Conorgog oh I'm so sorry lovely :(
I would go to get checked. I went in and they checked me over and booked in a scan to make sure everything was gone.
Look after yourself xxx

Oh I'm so sorry @Conorgog. Life can be so cruel sometimes. I think I would want to get checked due to my own experiences but I don't think it has to be urgently - I would go if and when you feel ready. It may give you peace of mind either way xx

Report
Mangoandbroccoli · 13/10/2019 08:17

Also @Conorgog, have you been to EPU previously? I don't know if it's the same in all hospitals but in mine it's a separate room to the waiting room for regular antenatal appointments. I completely understand the not wanting to be around pregnant people and I found the EPU easier in that respect - as sad as it is, everyone in the EPU is likely to be there because they're getting something checked out and, as such, the mood feels a little more respectful and empathetic towards everyone if that makes sense x
