Husband left me sleeping in hot car

BlueNavy · 18/06/2023 22:38

We went out for lunch today. Husband drove home and I fell asleep in the passenger seat. We got home and him and the children all went inside, leaving me in the hot car parked in direct sunlight with all the windows up and doors closed. I only woke up about 15mins when my son came to look for something. I was boiling hot when I woke up and was so angry he'd left me there.

We'd had an argument earlier and I almost think he did it on purpose. He says he didn't know I was asleep and thought I was just sitting in the car for a while. I'd been sleeping with my head drooping forward about 10 miles so I think it would have been obvious. He says oh i told you "we're home" and you ignored me. I was flippin' asleep!

I'm upset what could have happened if I'd been there longer in that heat. There's no way I would leave a child in a hot car with windows all up so I don't see why he thinks it's OK to do it to me. AIBU? Thank you

You’re like this on every thread though.

You have a hatred for women.

And bizarre that you describe yourself as a grandmother, why not just woman if that’s what you are?

... because it proves I'm not involuntarily celibate? 🤷‍♀️ I must have had sex several times, right? 😅

And calling out silliness doesn't make me a hater of women.

OrlandointheWilderness · 20/06/2023 09:51

Perhaps he thought he was being nice to leave you to sleep?!
I'm not being funny but you aren't a dog...!

Exactly, he may well have gone out & woken her after half hour or so anyway. Way to dramatic to assume he had evil intentions

It doesn’t ‘prove’ anything. Anyone can say they’re anyone on an anonymous forum.

Weird flex.

OK I guess 🤷‍♀️

Op I think the run of nightshifts is highly relevant and should have been highlighted sooner, perhaps then you would have received more sympathetic responses.it certainly explains your deep sleep and super long nap.

However your updates are instead heavily overdramatic; 14 year olds shouting during the night, you vomiting next to DH when he sleeps, talk of 'Bams'..... all very strange 🙈

This all I think is why this thread is a bit nuts!

PuddlesPityParty · 20/06/2023 10:19

Bit weird you slept through someone saying we’re home and everyone leaving the car but miraculously heard something that made you wake up when the child came back to car too - not sure why the latter would be any louder than the former.

I live somewhere that gets hotter than the UK. It's very well known that even adults can die from overheating if they sleep in a car in the sun. I mentioned taking a nap in a car park and someone's immediate comment was"quick way to die". It's something that teenage drivers are repeatedly warned about. 25 degrees outside is hot enough to do it.

This. Someone near me died recently from sleeping in a hot car with windows up outside a supermarket

AlfietheSchnauzer · 20/06/2023 12:30

@Marchitectmummy As I said, someone near me died recently in a hot car outside a supermarket whilst asleep. Please get your facts right

Jemandthehologramsunite · 20/06/2023 12:30

My dad and his sister have the same birthdate, and it probably doesn't count but my DC is two days after my only sibling. Should have been the same day but they took ages to be born!!

AlfietheSchnauzer · 20/06/2023 12:30

MintJulia · 19/06/2023 06:15

Uuuhm, you're a grown up! You're perfectly capable of getting out of the car on your own. You woke up when your body decided you were too hot. All completely normal.

If you had a spat with your dh earlier, he probably didn't wake you because he thought you were better left alone.

You sound tired and grumpy, I think he was right to leave you to sleep.

Incorrect, she woke up when her son came to get something. Please RTFT

Wrong thread?

@Spankydom Boozy brunch? Where have you got the boozy part from? OP says she wasn't drinking. Now you're just making up lies to fit your own narrative!!!!

What made you think you had the right to bully OP on other aspects of her marriage? She is asking about the sleeping in the car and you've taken it upon yourself to make nasty comments about what their lunch was like? Bang out of order. I can’t stand bullies like you

You're not a baby or a dog. An adult human being's body mass would not have dehydrated or gone into heart failure.

Heat stroke! Happens fairly often. Someone died outside a supermarket near me, asleep in a hot car just last month

You should’ve said …. Maybe three times?

Maybe he is like me. Someone who has an irrational contempt for adult daytime nappers. I find it a really unattractive trait.

Given your posts of another thread this morning, justifiably removed by MN, I can’t believe you’re telling other posters to name change.

Questioning people about name changes! If I were you I’d be ashamed to be associated with that comment.
