To think this is very lazy?

Just received a "thank you card" from a new baby we recently sent a gift to. It was a photo made into a postcard and printed under the image was the line:

"Just wanted to say, thank you for my gift!"

Presumably they ran off a few dozen copies and job done.

AIBU to think this is very crass and that the parents could have penned a couple of sentences at least, referring to the gifts in question? I went to loads of trouble with what I bought and was looking forward to hearing what they thought of it. However, even if I had only spent a fiver on a rattle I would still expect a little personal note.

I almost think no card at all would have been better than this...

not read all replies as i am very lazy I did not write any thank you cards, never do. I just mention it next time i see the person. But I remember having a newborn baby and at the time i really did not give a shit about anyone else but my baby. I did not choose to sleep either as she fed at least every hour.

are you bree from desperate housewives?

I do think yabu and I did hand write all the cards for the last 3 children but I would be grateful to get any response for a gift I wouldnt expect an individually handwritten card.

That said I get really pissed off a bit annoyed when my sil demands asks for a certain gift for her little spoilt brat angel then doesnt even send a text to say thanks you (I always post her gifts as we dont see them regularly). I make my 5 year old hand write hers and this year she has decided to have a smaller party after having to write 35 last year.

I agree.
Bloody slothful.
When I had my kids, I kept a pile of stamped postcards and wrote a few lines as and when a gift came.
Jesus, what is so hard about that?

i worked for clintons and the pounds that you we waste, only costs them a few pence to purchase. its so wrong.
