how di these old threads get resurected

CheerfulYank · 01/08/2014 20:02

I'm American and think they're okay.

I know lots of people who love them and lots who think they're stupid, so it's not am "all Americans think" thing :)

I do know some baby boys who get their pictures taken with bow ties!

CheerfulYank · 01/08/2014 20:03

Oops, didn't realize it was a zombie!

plinth · 01/08/2014 20:19

A twice resurrected zombie thread!

I miss GabbyLoggon Wink

Even with babies with hair it serves no function. It's not long enough to keep out of their eyes.

Yes, I am American too and think they're adorable.

They're just cute accessories. If you don't like them, just don't put them on your baby.

I don't understand this need to keep all girl babies androgynous to be honest. My DD is a girl, and I am happy to show people she is in fact a girl. When she's old enough to pick out her clothes, she can wear all the boy clothes she wants. But for now, while I have a say I'll dress her up in what I think are adorable little outfits.

That said, DD has pink frilly dresses. She also has Batman onesies.

fatlazymummy · 01/08/2014 22:18

squeaky that only happens on mumsnet really. In real life most people carry on dressing their girl and boy babies differently. At least all the babies I see are dressed according to their gender.
Oh hang on. I'm probably just a chav associating with other chavs.

CatThiefKeith · 01/08/2014 22:25

I wish people wouldn't resurrect Zombie threads.

I got all excited when I thought Pat and Sue were back!Sad

BreadForBrains · 01/08/2014 22:29

I happen to think they look absolutely ridiculous and the babies I've seen wearing them have big bald heads with maybe 3 strands of eyebrow length wisps.
IMO, they aren't cute, but then I bought baby ds some of those baby converse shoes when was a couple of months old because I thought they were cute, so it's all subjective!
On a side note though, just cut hair that's getting in children's eyes - it grows back!

ThePinkOcelot · 01/08/2014 22:30

YANBU. I hate them. They look ridiculous.

DH nephew wife put them on their dd. They look awful. She has this one with a huge flower on it. She looks like fifi flower tot!

BranchingOut · 01/08/2014 22:37

I wish Gabby would come back too...I liked her posts, from what I can remember. What happened to her?

I have never seen this phenomenon in real life so I googled 'baby flower headband' and oh my, some of those babies are gorgeous! But they would be just as gorgeous without the headbands....in some of the pictures the headbands are on babies that look as if they have just been towelled off by a midwife - why would you do that?

BranchingOut · 01/08/2014 22:39

I am going to a wedding in October and was thinking of buying a fascinator, but now I see there might be a better way....

GatoradeMeBitch · 02/08/2014 01:30

I always think the mothers are paranoid about people thinking their girl is a boy. And they usually seem to be put on bald babies.

sashh · 02/08/2014 01:38

I don't get the 'to tell it's a girl'.

I was once called 'young man' when I was 17 - I looked down at my then D cup boobs.

Also loving Anti-Natal

FriendofDorothy · 02/08/2014 06:55

I hate them. Think they look chavvy!

I hate them they look so chavvy and awful, have a girl on my Facebook who posted a picture of all her baby daughters headbands and she is only a week old - yuck. Also hate when baby girls have one tiny wisp of hair and the parents insist on putting it in a silly " ponytail" that sprouts from top of the head..........

gran07 · 17/08/2014 00:32

Hi on the subject of headbands on babies i love them not the huge ones that take over their whole head but the small bows are really cute and i think it is really a matter of choice for the parents either way its their choice not ours everyone is entitled to their opinion.

echt · 17/08/2014 04:23

Chavvy.
