OP posts:
Sirzy · 20/09/2012 18:24

I want to know where all these babies who have been made blind by a bit of hair are!

WelshMaenad · 20/09/2012 18:25

Won't someone think of the hair-blinded children!!!!

Newtothisstuff · 20/09/2012 18:25

Omg I completely agree !! I've got a friend who does this to her bald baby. Not only does she have a hair band but it always has a stupid big flower or bow on it !' Completely hideous !! Grin

Linnyloo15 · 21/09/2012 08:58

ok wear your hair so it's dangling in your eyes for 4 months.... comfy? thought not.

And WelshMaenad: drum up sales, i have not advertised at all.... so how would that work? pointless b*tchy comment really! oh yeah you did a strikethrough, so it doesn't count? right? Backspace works a lot better. Could understand if i tagged my website, or posted a business card but hey, all those sales will come flying in from the psychics i guess! lucky me.

AND would i really try and sell to this post? kinda the opposite of the target market don't you think?

Sirzy · 21/09/2012 09:04

There is a big difference between that and going blind which you said in your first post!

Linnyloo15 · 21/09/2012 09:16

do you personally know that hair doesn't affect eyesight?

SuePurblybilt · 21/09/2012 09:18

SIT DOWN PEOPLE, I HAVE A SHOCKING PLAN BUT IT MAY JUST WORK.

If you are blessed with a hairy baby and said hair is dangling in their eyes and BLINDING them - why not cut it? Just a wee trim? It doesn't sap their strength or discourage the hair from growing. I promise.

Now I'm off to bump threads from 2002 on hair-blindness.

Chelvis · 21/09/2012 09:21

I don't like them, BUT I think MN is not representative of how much the general public seems to like them. We got given an outfit with a huge flower headband by a relative and, as that relative was having a special occasion meal soon after, we dressed DD in the outfit for it, even though I wasn't keen. I have never been stopped by so many people to pet her and coo over her before or since. Every waitress, almost every table nearby, people we passed walking from the car into the restaurant .... plus the family all adored it, thought it was really unique. It was like having a tiny celeb, people just stop and look! Not put one on her since though, still don't like them!

a ?leading optometrist? claims the haircut could cause amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye. "If a young emo chap has a fringe covering one eye all the time, that eye won't see a lot of detail," says Andrew Hogan, a national executive member of the Optometrists Association. "And if it happens from a young age, that eye can become amblyotic."

"If you walk around with an eye patch on all day, then that eye will end up seeing more poorly than the other eye," he adds. And if the hair-eyepatch limits access to sunlight, it may also result in short-sightedness. A ?veteran hairdresser? adds that the hairstyle could also cause posture problems, since it forces kids to tilt their heads to one side. "I have to wonder how they don't get a stiff neck,"

Same thing.... i have a lazy eye... don't really want that to happen to my daughter.

RaisinDEtre · 21/09/2012 09:24

oooh Zombie thread with HANDBAGS, coo

and yy cut the fringe if it's BLINDING your child

SuePurblybilt · 21/09/2012 09:26

Yesbut

Does your baby have an emo haircut? Really?

RaisinDEtre · 21/09/2012 09:26

a ''leading MNer'' says ''buy scissors to trim your baby's hair, no need to clip or owt''

HTH

RaisinDEtre · 21/09/2012 09:27

sorry but emo baby has made me ROAR

SuePurblybilt · 21/09/2012 09:29

Emo pirate baby, Raisin. Arrrrr.

Linnyloo15 · 21/09/2012 09:30

Sue, i want her hair to grow. i appreciate that is the most obvious and best way to deal with it. but once her hair is past the eyes, it won't be a problem.

I'm going to stress again, i appreciate peoples opinions about the headbands. My Dad HATES them and refers to the headbands making my daughter look like a mini Rambo. Grin I know not everyone likes them, but what i don't appreciate is the CHAV label and the fact that i am being a bad mum by putting them on her.

RaisinDEtre · 21/09/2012 09:30

hur hur

That quoted text actually refers to justin beiber.... not a baby, but not much difference in my opinion :P

RaisinDEtre · 21/09/2012 09:34

oh my goodness, Lemarch

Quick quick get a baby headband, red eyes are SO last year

SuePurblybilt · 21/09/2012 09:34

That baby has bigger issues, LeM Grin

Combover? Grin Or gel back Luftwaffe style.

Sirzy · 21/09/2012 09:36

There is a big difference between the eye being constantly covered by thick adult hair styled in that way and a babies wispy hair.

Why do you want to grow the bits that fall over the face anyway? You going for the cousin it look?

Linnyloo15 · 21/09/2012 09:39

Not a bad idea for an ugly baby! but luckily she is a beauty. i don't want a fringe on her... i had one and hated it so i'll let it grow and tie it up when she is older. My daughters her is Definitely not wispy, it's very heavy on top.

Linnyloo15 · 21/09/2012 09:40

*hair.... sorry about that, obviously not awake enough to spell correctly!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 21/09/2012 10:31

See the thing is I'm nice, becuz I just always assume, when I see a bubba wearing 1, that they're on the way to a Bad Taste Fancy Dress party.

SuePurblybilt · 21/09/2012 10:44

Have the huns got you, Chaos? Is this your elaborate way of calling for help?
Like when George, in Famous Five Get Stuck in a Cave, wrote a note to the others and put it on Timmy's collar but signed it Georgina?
