that's it really. I don't even 100% know why but I can't stand them. Some reasons are they are horrible colours and ridiculously expensive, unnecessary to spend that surely? And it seems to me (round here anyway) that BugaBoo owners are v smug - "only the best for my children" types. Someone I know insisted on getting one and they have so little money that half the time she can't afford to even get on a bus to do anything, so she and her kid sit inside all day, pretty much every day. Better to get a cheaper travel system and let the poor child get some fresh air IMHO... ooh, they just really make my blood boil. Happy to be put straight by proud BugaBoo owners

I assume that LordVaV's children are borne aloft by angels on velvet cushions... or maybe those winged monkeys from SOTR 'fly my pretties, fly!'

We bought a bugaboo for dd because she said she'd like one.It is bright green. It has done 2 babies but so it should.I dont like it much and have never mastered the folding mechanism. It will be being ebayed soon.

BabyGiraffes · 23/05/2010 21:05

YABU... it's a pushchair for heaven's sake. Do you feel as strongly about people's choice of car and whether they can/should afford their current model? Thought not.

LadyThompson · 23/05/2010 21:55

Not too smug to smile, LordVaV. Just slightly bemused that someone cares enough about other people's buggies to harp on for pages and pages...seems a bit insecure. Enjoyed Ginhag's ditty though.

Linziwam · 24/05/2010 01:35

We have one. I wouldn't/couldn't have spent the money but am lucky enough to have a dad that could, and knows naf all about pushchairs so just picked an expensive looking one out the catalogue!
Things I love- the fact that it is a hot pink ( yes I love that, sorry) the fact that it's not faffy. I saw so many travel systems with so many things hanging off, secret storage, etc. Bugaboo just looked simple, like a frame with a seat on it.
Things I don't love - the brake is shit, really shit. You can't fold it down without taking off the seat. The shoulder straps start really high up and can't be fed in lower unless you have a (really expensive) footmuff, which leads me to the fact that only bugaboo accesories fit on it and they're all over priced.
So all in all, it's great for long walks and easy steering, but for that kind of money, I would have expected a couple of things to be better.
Not too worried about lookin like a yummy mummy, as it's covered in crisps and chocolate, and is usually teamed up with a peacocks bag and primark outfit!

Couldn't work myself up enough to hate or love any pram, but I do think it's a silly name, and always makes me think 'Bugger Boo'

Hello. I am new.

I live in Queensland in Australia where it is very hot lol.

I too HATE the Bugaboo.

I have just sold my Cameleon with every conceivable accessory known to pramkind.

Awful, bulky, impractical, heavy, did I mention bulky - took up the entire boot of my X5 so that I was faced with doing a food shop of only 2 tins of catfood and a bunch of celery, and even when "collapsed" I could still see the damn thing mocking me in my rear view mirror like a character from a scary movie...

In short a total waste of time and money.

Just bought a Maclaren Techno XLR and DS slept for the first time for 2 x 2hr naps whilst out without his poor legs and feet in the air a la BAB. Oh and is has great sun protection AND I can finally do a food shop again.

Grrr - terrible things lol....
