that's it really. I don't even 100% know why but I can't stand them. Some reasons are they are horrible colours and ridiculously expensive, unnecessary to spend that surely? And it seems to me (round here anyway) that BugaBoo owners are v smug - "only the best for my children" types. Someone I know insisted on getting one and they have so little money that half the time she can't afford to even get on a bus to do anything, so she and her kid sit inside all day, pretty much every day. Better to get a cheaper travel system and let the poor child get some fresh air IMHO... ooh, they just really make my blood boil. Happy to be put straight by proud BugaBoo owners

I have a Bugaboo Frog. I bought it because it was light, easy to handle and would see my baby through to 4 years (as advised by the nice lady in the pram shop).

The Bugaboo got consigned to the garage when little 'un was 3ish and starting to walk everywhere. Thought about flogging it and couldn't bring myself to. We moved house and it is quite a walk for his Nanna up to the local high street - so guess what's come back into use.

Little un (nearly 5) fits into it (just) and sits there like Lord Muck. Absolutely loves it.

I am coming to terms with the fact that he will soon no longer want to get into it, and that I may sell it - but they are good at holding their value. I paid £500 - think I can get £200 for it now.

I don't have blond hair or perfect highlights, can't stand Cath Kidston prints and think Boden sounds like kitchenware.

I do love Bugaboos though - and seriously considered trying for another baby so I could buy the Bee.

LordVolAuVent · 19/05/2010 22:14

Nothing wrong with blonde hair, superfly.

For a moment I thought you meant his Nanna goes in the frog!

People being 'proactive' and 'thinking outside the box'

and pate.

And people asking me when I'm going to have another child.

And rudeness.

SarfEasticated · 19/05/2010 22:16

I have a red bugaboo, and it is near 3 years old. Bit faded, but the 2 year warranty means that it is in tip top condition. It has been brilliant for pounding the streets and parks of London, and has meant that DD could face me until she was over 2. In my bit of SE London, there are hardly any Bugaboos, so my DD doesn't actually consider it a proper pushchair, she wants a Maclaren like everyone else!
We chose it because we thought it was the best, both earned a reasonable salary and parents paid half - they liked the 'proper' pram part.
No lambskin, my changing bag was an OIOI and matched beautifully, but I don't use it now. No lattechino holder, and no other extras. I've loved it, because it's been great to push, robust, comfy and my lovely DD faced me.

ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:16

I pictured nanna in the frog too

LordVolAuVent · 19/05/2010 22:18

I think the fact it's a bit faded, sarf, is only a good thing.

Why do you all think your DCs want to face you. Talk about up yourselves...

Have to disagree about rudeness, ginhag, think rudeness is sometimes very funny. Mr Rude off Mr Men is my favourite, I particularly love the fact he's French.

ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:21

I meant people being rude to me. That's never funny.

I also hate Cath Kidston,is money for what? A load of textile patterns that have been around since the fifties...pure tweeness.

ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:23

Actually I tried turning it round to see if he'd prefer it. He didn't. I'm that fascinating y'see.

SarfEasticated · 19/05/2010 22:24

I do too, it makes me look 'all weather' I reckon

jeananddolly · 19/05/2010 22:25

While you are all on Cath Kidston - may I mention her Twin Sister of EVIL...Emma 'SATAN OF CERAMICS' Bridgewater

LordVolAuVent · 19/05/2010 22:33

Probably hypnotised through state of terror at having to face your feet, ginhag...

OP posts:
LordVolAuVent · 19/05/2010 22:34

Ooh, who is she, jean? Have you a a link?

Mimile · 19/05/2010 22:37

Love my bugaboo bee - a very garish yellow, but also a 50% off, bargained-down to 70&, end-of-series.
After breaking my back with the Loola, the bee is a lifesaver, and at least I don't take all the space in the bus with it.

but had a good laugh / agree with jeananddolly about the Bridgewater / Kidson axis of evil - over-rated and while it makes my ikea 365+ look, well, sweedishly basic, I consol myself with the thought it probably doesn't survive the dishwasher / tumble dryer very well...

ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:38

Jean I know her stuff. It's a milk jug, let's write 'milk' on it yeah? And flog it for lots cos is all luvverly and retro and housewifey.

Yuck

jeananddolly · 19/05/2010 22:39

Oh you know - those over-priced plates and mugs they have in John Lewis that say LOVE on them in big letters. Or MUNCH. Or GULLIBLE...

here

They are my current dislike du jour.

LordVolAuVent · 19/05/2010 22:39

See, people keep going on about fitting on the bus with the Bugaboo, but I always think it looks large. Is it deceptively small?

OP posts:
ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:40

That sentence would have made more sense with appropriate use of speechmarks. But I'm not well

jeananddolly · 19/05/2010 22:41

My 'dinner service' is from Woolworths. And my mugs are all the free promotional ones I get from work. You know, from printers.

ginhag · 19/05/2010 22:41

Mine isn't. The bee is though.

jeananddolly · 19/05/2010 22:42

The bugaboo bee is the one for the bus - Gecko and Chameleon are too wide.
