that's it really, I was really shocked and went into a bit of a rant. I can't believe someone I've been intimate with and been close to would vote bnp.

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 03/05/2010 18:25

good education and opportunities ng is still a fuckwit

proof you cant polish a turd

smallorange · 03/05/2010 18:32

Didn't they get about 850,000 votes for theveuro elections but only about 200,000 for the general election thr following year?

They will get less than 1 million votes on Thursday, so won't even get a seat via first past the post. With PR it may be different. Does anyone know?

daftpunk · 03/05/2010 18:43

NG is extremely intelligent...you don't take a party like the BNP into mainstream politics without knowing what you're doing.. they're bigger than UKIP now, and UKIP are made up predominantly of former tory MP's

runnybottom · 03/05/2010 18:44

oooh, Cambridge graduate you say? Well that automatically precludes you from being a facist!

You can be educated and still be ignorant. You can be educated and still be a thug. All it means is he has even less excuse for his vile views.

scottishmummy · 03/05/2010 18:46

LOL dp.comparing ukip to bnp is like saying hmmm which do i prefer

shite or keech

daftpunk · 03/05/2010 18:50

Ha ha ha ha ha

PfftTheMagicDragon · 03/05/2010 19:02

I'm not sure how anyone who belonged to the NF could argue they were not a fascist

oldandgreynow · 03/05/2010 19:10

That was 30 years ago.I certainly don't think in the same wat i did 30 years ago.The bnp have some good sensible policies on education, the economy and so on.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 03/05/2010 19:19

SO what if it was years ago. The BNP does not preach forgiveness, which you will see if you have a look at their crime and justice policies, particularly their ideas on capital punishment.

Plus, he didn't leave the NF until 1989. 20 years ago, which you might think is splitting hairs. But at what point do we forgive transgressions? Does forming the fascist ITP count (19 years ago), or his conviction 12 years ago, or the holocaust deniers meetings?

Do none of these count? Or is he forgiven?

Tell me about these sensible policies.

Kaloki · 03/05/2010 19:22

"you don't take a party like the BNP into mainstream politics without knowing what you're doing.. "

Ah yes, the mainstream politics argument, that's always great way of guaranteeing they aren't totally unreasonable nazi party

posieparker · 03/05/2010 19:23

He's just discovered that BNP is a legitimate fascist group, the NF would never be a good career move....he wants power and for everyone to hear the sound of his voice. Anyone who could hold abhorrent views like those of the NF does not dilute, they either repel them completely or still hold them.

oldandgreynow · 03/05/2010 19:28

Financial supprt for home edders

VigourMortis · 03/05/2010 19:30

I haven't read the whole thread so please excuse me if someone has already posted this which really spells out their vile aim.

is that it, oldandgrey?

SpringHeeledJack · 03/05/2010 19:41

I'm a home edder and I would MUCH rather carry on doing it with no help from the state than get handouts from fascists, ta very much

QueenMuvva · 03/05/2010 19:47

Rotfl@ 'Griffin is extremely intelligent' (daftpunk).

Why does he always come across like a not-very-bright assistant supermarket manager whenever I see him speak publicly, then?

He has won more votes because - like all fascists - he preys on the poor, indigenous working/under class in times of economic hardship. It's what Nazis do. Nothing to do with being intelligence.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 03/05/2010 19:54

all the policies on the website seem like they are written by over eager 15 year olds. No proper wording, all emotive crap.

runnybottom · 03/05/2010 19:59

Harpy it is NOT an knee jerk generalisation. I am not hysterical or uninformed. I have MET these people. I have campaigned against them. I worked for many years with organisations that work against them.

It is not at all similar to an assumption that all muslims are terrorist, as anyone with half a brain cell knows that couldn't possibly be true. The BNP, on the other hand, may have gained a veneer of respectability, but they are still teeming with criminals, holocaust deniers and neo-nazis. This is not OPINION, this is easily provable FACT.

Anyone using the BNP as a protest vote against labour or anyone else needs to educate themselves about who they are voting for.

Kaloki · 03/05/2010 20:05

"What about protest voting?"

I cannot sympathise with anyone who is voting for a party without looking into what they stand for. And anyone that can read that manifesto and still think that their vote is well placed with the BNP is an idiot in my book.

Elasticwoman · 03/05/2010 20:43

After hearing Nick Griffin on the PM programme today, I would not want to associate with any one who purports to agree with him. His views are deeply repugnant to me.

If I found I had been sleeping with such a person, I would be very upset.

Luckily my dh supports the Cynics Party.

daftpunk · 03/05/2010 21:06

QM;

He is intelligent, he just hasn't got a team of advisors and spin doctors around him, with NG you get it real...

QueenMuvva · 03/05/2010 21:08

Yep. Real Nazi.

He's clear about his vision for the future and what he wants for the UK....I find that quite refreshing actually...
