Because I dont take DD to school that often due to having to work it just makes me feel like a fish out of water when I do go, some are making trips to the shops in their little gangs after, some coffee morning, some going to each others houses and its all they talk about. Regardless of the children their kids like to play with, they must play with the kids of the mums they like and thats it.
Since DD started she has had one friend over and has been to her house in return however ive asked some of the mums of children my DD likes and plays with at school about them coming over after school one day but nobody takes us up.

porcamiseria

fair enough.
And my first reply to you was to apologise

It is a bit brittle on here just now I think. I am probably being more grateful to see nice posters because of all the drama and upset elsewhere.
I am sorry that the chatting bugs you. But TBH I am not going to stop greeting friends when I come across them. And it honestly is never intended to exclude people, nor is it ever mean.

Sings :

"It's like the fireman in charge of fire prevention having his house burn down because of forgetting to change the batteries in his smoke alarm"

porcamiseria · 30/04/2010 13:56

as a conciliatory-one-off-peace-making gesture, of course.........

off to fight someone on a BF/FF thread instead...

stealthsquiggle · 30/04/2010 13:57

Jamie - that song leaves me screaming "that's not bloody irony - you stupid woman - look it up in a dictionary"

..hence I try and avoid it.

tethersend · 30/04/2010 13:57

You are mistaking actual irony for the woefully inaccurate Alanis Morissette song, Jamie

Your version is far better, if not quite as catchy...

stealthsquiggle · 30/04/2010 13:59

the stupid woman in question being Alanis wotsit, not you, of course...

porcamiseria - good for you - are you going to join in on any particular side, or just whichever one looks as though it needs support ?

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 14:04

I certainly wasn't trying to be mean, I may have been a little snippy but your comment got my back up. I apologise if I did the same to you.

MN is feeling a tad tumultuous at the mo and as Pag said it's nice to greet friends (and new faces) and have a titter to lighten the day. RL is full of deep and difficult conversations at the moment so I am doing my best to avoid that on here (although I have not done so well on this thread, I should have not responded at all tbh)

In any event, if we did come across as an exclusive clique starting an 'in joke' conversation, it's a shame because imo, the more people are daft and make me giggle the better.

Hullygully · 30/04/2010 14:34

You are all BASTARDS

Hullygully · 30/04/2010 14:35

(Where is all the tumultuousness and unpleasantness? I search and search but I can't find any to play with)

porcamiseria · 30/04/2010 14:38

sorry Hully I was being mean then stopped. make love not war innit

I cant wave back to you as then I am doing what I slagged off in the first place.

sorry!

Hullygully · 30/04/2010 14:47

Course you can! Go on, it's easy peasy. Get in the swing and go with the flow.

pagwatch · 30/04/2010 14:49

You can always wave.
Its the rule.
It is the flinging arms around randomlythat is frowned upon.

colditz · 30/04/2010 14:51

Oh oldsilver ... you didn't send your children to a little boy's party because his mum doesn't want to socialise with you?

And NOBODY actually wanted to send their children to a little boy's party, because his mum sits in the car and won't come out and chatter?

Shame on you.

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 15:06

I am feeling the love people. Feeling. The. Love.

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 15:06

I plan to use the word titter on every thread I post on from now on btw.

tethersend · 30/04/2010 15:15
Hullygully · 30/04/2010 15:16

well all right then.

Is Feminism good for fights?

tethersend · 30/04/2010 15:17

It is if you say 'titter'

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 15:18

I keep wandering around my house doing my Frankie Howerd impression 'titter ye not'

GibbonInARibbon · 30/04/2010 15:19

'stop tittering madam, yes, you!'

I'm even doing the face.

It's a sight to behold let me tell you.

pagwatch · 30/04/2010 15:19

I love Hully the most. One day I hope we will both be in the same nursing home doing out trapeze act for the amusement of the residents.

I am buying lots of nylon garments to ensure that we crackle

Hullygully · 30/04/2010 15:21

Look! Now this thread really is turning into a quiche. Quick, Porc, come and be a piece of onion in our squidgy midst. And all others very welcome, room for all..

Bran was right.

Where's that james?

pagwatch · 30/04/2010 15:23

Bran is always right.

I thought Porc was too rude as an abbreviation. I have shortened her to Porca. It seems more feminine somehow

pagwatch · 30/04/2010 15:25

BTW I am staying put here now. Sorry OP !

The rest of mumsnet seems to be completely barking at the moment with fights on most of thethreads I have looked at recently.
