unles you want to talk about anal sex which is hilarious. and never offends anyone it seems.

if oyu dare take the pis out of anyone its automatically offensive

( and im going out in a min so dont do the old "come back here op and defend yourself routine")

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 21:35

that's become such a bullshit thread, sea, don't read it. it's all about dp and tsh, nothing to do with fb.

southeastastra · 18/04/2010 21:41

my mum used to do the ironing on sunday night, whilst watching that's life.

Gashtray · 18/04/2010 21:41

TiggyD, thanks for the advice but the train will no longer be stopping there. Botty is a Beeching cuts station. Only the overgrown tracks remain...

southeastastra · 18/04/2010 21:42

i know aitch but she just ignores posts. no courage of convictions or whatever

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 21:47

it's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall about her. ignore ignore ignore.

icedcake · 18/04/2010 21:52

You are right Aitch but as an immigrant I find many posts on mn extremely hurtful and because of the frequency of such postings I do think mn suffers from sense of humour failure.

southeastastra · 18/04/2010 21:59

really icedcake, so frequent?

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 22:00

sure yes, but what do we know? we KNOW that nothing that is said will change her mind, and we KNOW that she will eventually assume victim status and that a few similarly-minded posters will use the opportunity to cry foul on her behalf.

so, don't engage. one posting of 'troll' and that's it. lines and lines of them should get the message across.

icedcake · 18/04/2010 22:05

actually, on reflection they are maybe not so frequent but they still are there - I was just focussing on some daft posts - not to worry.

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 22:18

recently they are very frequent, icedcake. you are not imagining it at all.

but can you call someone a troll if they are not a troll. even if they are troll like in thier posting?

so will you wait to do this until you stumble across the next offensive post - to say derail the thread?

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/04/2010 22:32

Juno - your OP is so right.

Some funny things occasionally, but I realised I was retreating into cliquey threads (the wankers) to avoid the rest of what's being posted. And the FB thread has been a bit of a last straw for me. As I've met DP three times now, and have defended her before, it feels even more of a betrayal to see/read her being so offensive - and increasingly so. I think she is a troll, fwiw.

Am seriously thinking of taking a MN break in the hope that it will all blow over.

JunoWatt · 18/04/2010 22:33

i think i must have hidden that thread

Poncey, self-delusional and cliquey, justa!

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 22:41

oh i've been doing it for the last three or four threads that she's been on. just waiting for others to catch on, lol.

i really liked dp and backed her often in the past and i do support her right not to go along with the status quo, but the minute she starts pointedly pushing people's buttons rather than just discussing an issue (it's super-clear when she crosses that line imo) then fuck that for a game of dollies, she's a troll.

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/04/2010 22:46

wats - Daftpunk.

Just look at the Frankie Boyle thread - that's her latest oeuvre. Her worst comment has been deleted, but she has been accusing Lenin of being attention-seeking, and saying how boring she is (along with her usual stuff about how dreadful homosexuality is)

Aitch - I think she's going beyond pushing people's buttons now, and that's what's so horrible about the whole thing. I do support the right to free speech, no matter how awful I may think their views are. But personal attacks are another matter.

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 22:51

yes, but saying someone is attention-seeking or boring is fairly okay on this site, not really what i'd regard as a personal attack tbh. in the context of the button-pushing, however, it is something else, something crummy and shitty. i hope she sorts herself out.
