unles you want to talk about anal sex which is hilarious. and never offends anyone it seems.

if oyu dare take the pis out of anyone its automatically offensive

( and im going out in a min so dont do the old "come back here op and defend yourself routine")

AitchTwoZone · 17/04/2010 23:52

yup. like an eejit. and you can imagine how attractive my lips looked when two enormous bubbles of burn popped up there.

anyway, beats the shit out of fingers in a towel holder, mmelindt, that's all i'm saying.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/04/2010 23:58

Ouch Aitch

I once sprayed my mum's perfume on my face because it smelt of her...It made me vomit and burnt my eyes.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/04/2010 09:29

Blimey Aitch, or should that be Ouch!

I've sprayed my underarms with hairspray once or twice. Very sore having just shaved but I do believe I perspired less that day.

Highlander · 18/04/2010 10:54

'the SN Police are around every corner, that's for sure'

Absolutely correct. But never mind citizen, don't target our children and we will let you live.

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 12:01

wtf are the sn police? you surely cannot mean people with children with sn who object to jokes about disabled people etc? or people who might have more insight into a 'badly behaved' seven year old in a supermarket? please explain.

Goblinchild · 18/04/2010 12:06

That's what she meant H. And she was right. We are always around, being annoying and protective. And we are not going to stop because of little squeaks of 'Ain't you got a sense of humour?'

pagwatch · 18/04/2010 12:21

Goblin
you have to sort that secret handshake out- it is a bit of a give away. And it must e confusing to the uninitiated

I am looking forward to retirement from the SN police one day. The hours are crap and the tossers you have to try and explain this stuff to are so wearisome.
then we can all sit around and enjoy laughing at random stuff and/orthe people who can take it, the people who are able to respond and stick up for themselves - you know, the whole legitimate target thing.

AitchTwoZone · 18/04/2010 12:28

i think the 'sn police' are one of the best things about this site, tbh. i was saying to dh the other day that i had been brought up short on here many times, and made to question easy assumptions about behaviour etc.

gramercy · 18/04/2010 12:38

It's absolutely right to react if someone is deliberately offensive (or even unknowingly offensive) about children with problems if that's what the poster intends.

BUT - it's the gang of people who roam threads looking for opportunities to have their feelings injured.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/04/2010 17:28

What "gang of people" are these? Are people with kids with SN not allowed to read all the threads then. And are we not allowed to comment if we are offended or think someone is WRONG?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/04/2010 17:40

It all got a bit serious around here again then? Surely there's humour to be had in random things without upset. We did used to have a laugh and le poisson is right - there ain't much of it about at the moment. I can imagine the phone/tights around the head thread or the mad tablecloth lady would have gone awry in the current climate.

And I'm not saying that it's OK to make fun of minority groups in society, it never is, just that it would be good to have a light hearted moment occasionally.

tethersend · 18/04/2010 18:04

Pull my finger

pagwatch · 18/04/2010 18:05

If you fart tethers I intend to be disgusted

EggyAllenPoe · 18/04/2010 18:15

i believe pag has on occasion been targetted by the SN police too (no doubt fearing 'the enemy within'

i think people get a bit hyper-poitically correct on here , when they start objecting to posts that are not intended to be offensive, as after all, there are plenty of posts that definitely are intended to be offensive in the extreme...

also 'pc' lanugage. we don't jump about when people use the word 'bastard' as offensive to theri illegitimate child...becuase it is common curency and generally not intended to perform any such function. i think there are other words that fall in this category.

pagwatch · 18/04/2010 18:24

I am a double agent. I am a master of disguise and doge and weave. I need a secret agent name.

I am going to be rubbish at it though unless tether lets me let go of her finger....

I still don't think MN is losing its sense of humour because of a percived PCness. I think we are all a bit dull.
I am not one who will often find SN based stuff funny so would not be falling about laughing at that anyway. But I think it is dour on here just now.

My DS2 made his first joke last week
We are in Spain and he went to get in the car and forgot passenger seat was on the other side. Dh said " are you planning to drive pagboy?" DS2 started laughing and said yes. He then was pleased with himself and kept elaborating..
" the people are very worried, pagboy was crashingthe car, it was big fire, Pagboy is very naughty..."
All very sweet until we went to get on the plane home and bemused Spanish security staff are eyeing pagboy who is shouting

" Pagboy was driving the plane, the plane was crashing into the water, big fire and crashing..."

pagwatch · 18/04/2010 18:29

actually I have no idea why I just posted that.
It seemed pertinent when I sat down.

bibbitybobbityhat · 18/04/2010 18:37

Its all gone wrong since WanderingTrolley left, for she was unfailingly funny. And countessD (I know she visits occasionally).

EggyAllenPoe · 18/04/2010 18:38

for pagboy.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/04/2010 18:40

Yes, dull. And a bit chippy. Hell's teeth, I'm boring myself now

At least you flew Pag, pity any slightly nervous passengers around you though

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/04/2010 18:49

seriously, I like a laugh as much as anyone, but the term "SN police" is pretty insulting when it is just referring to people who have a pretty difficult time and are hence a bit over-sensitive

But we can't even object to the term without being accused of being "professionally offended" and the "SN police" I'm sure.

tethersend · 18/04/2010 18:56

I think I may have followed through.

pagwatch · 18/04/2010 18:58

Well at least I can let go and do some ashing now...

Anything you would like me to rinse for you ...
