Any time.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 12/04/2010 19:41

Don't you have to grate it anyway??

MarshaBrady · 12/04/2010 19:48

Yep love Ocado. Do the monthly £10 thing, very satisfying to not pay delivery each time.

Only thing I am not happy with is the bread, unfortunately.

OcadoAnnie · 12/04/2010 20:46

GrendelsMum - Do you like them? Our vans aren't different colours, they're different fruit and vegetable patterns! We have strawberry (red), onion (orangey), cabbage (purple), apple (light green), lemon (yellow) and courgette (dark green). They also have individual names (e.g. 'Strawberry Shortcake', 'Laura Lemon' etc.) which was part of a customer competition we ran a year or so ago. Hope that answers the question!

WilfSell · 12/04/2010 20:55

Wot? A real life Ocado person here to get feedback and answer questions?

Have not read thread but:

  1. Thank you for the Android Ocado app: I love you for that (well, not you personally but...)
  1. Can you tell your packing contacts that I really really hate my raw chicken being packed with my kids yoghurts etc. I know your/their H&S advisors say it is fine but it really really puts me off. I have complained about this endlessly and I can't be the only one because the phone lady read out a stock answer. Come on: customer service is your thing!
  1. Lately I have been getting more 'short dates' stuff. Hmmm. is this because I am a regular slot, on demand customer? I still think you're the best service around but won't be happy if that service slips because you take me for granted!

I love you, you make my life work but I'm not an easy lay...

Wilf x

WilfSell · 12/04/2010 21:07

And by the way I also have been utterly converted by your Waitrose-brand organic geranium shampoo and body wash. I am CONVINCED that it must be supplied by a Well Known Organic cosmetics maker also sold in your range that sounds Nothing Like Peal's Mard. But who am I to guess.

It is lovely and VV cheap.

OcadoAnnie · 13/04/2010 14:37

WilfSell -

  1. Thanks for the thank you! Hope it makes your shopping life easier.
  1. Sorry about that; I'll definitely pass your comments on. I know that we did speak to Food Standards about this issue a year or so ago, and it is technically safe, but I understand that you may feel uncomfortable with it.
  1. That seems odd; I can tell you for certain that it will be nothing to do with you as a customer though! When we're putting together your orders, there's no way of telling what kind of customer you are, so don't worry about that. Our dates are usually longer than any other online supermarkets too, as their goods have to go from supplier to HQ to store, to shelf, then out to you, but we order in items dependent on what our customers have ordered, and very often it goes straight out as soon as we've received it! If the use-by date you receive doesn't tally up with the one on your receipt, then by all means call/e-mail us and we'll investigate.

We'll always do all we can to make sure you keep loving us. Hope I've answered your points!

NormalityBites · 13/04/2010 14:50

AIBU to think that my Ocado delivery man this morning was a bit out of line, OcadoAnnie?

First of all he didn't even say good morning. Second of all he didn't give me my receipt, I didn't notice as I had kids round my feet, but I later found it in the bottom of a bag with unwanted substitutions on it Third, he told me my garden was messy (it is) and tried to sell me his garden services because he's a gardener when he's not 'doing this' gestures to bags

Maybe he thinks it's a good way to get customers for himself - but I can guarantee it's not a good way to get customers for Ocado - if I want a gardener I'll get one....

LoveBeingAMummy · 13/04/2010 14:56

NB that'll be a big nono

OcadoAnnie · 13/04/2010 15:29

NormalityBites - Oh dear! YANBU, that's not the sort of service you should be getting from us at all. If you send me your order number (at the top of your receipt or order confirmation e-mail), I'll sort out the substitutions and pass on your feedback to his managers.

Sorry about that!

Nettiespagetti · 14/04/2010 12:11

I had another lovely delivery from Ocado monday night, all went well. One broken pot noodle (yes i know but my DH eats them) but quickly refunded.

The main problem i have is my complete lack of knowledge about what size is what. Now you may laugh but it is an affliction.

I got a 500g back of rice which i thought was at least twice that size on the order but clearly not and i also got the worlds smallest organic cucumber (as small as...)

Need a measurement school!!

Anyone had a fruit bos or a veg box? Any good?

somebodysfool · 14/04/2010 12:52

Just had my first delivery after reading this thread. I was very impressed, did the shop via mysupermaket. Initially the basket was slightly more expensive than Tesco's until the delivery was added then almost identical. However I also got £15 as first time shopper and have been offered this on my next shop. Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 75cl worth £8.99Free with your next order when you spend more than £40.00 for delivery before 27/04/2010. How fabulous, will be using again and recommending to friends and family to get £20 off future shop!

justagirlfromedgware · 14/04/2010 18:49

Does anyone (Ocado Annie?) know if I recommend a friend whether he can benefit both from 15% off his first shop and the £10 off from the recommend a friend deal? What's the best way for him to maximise his benefit?

CaptainNancy · 15/04/2010 00:13

Another mner happy with the android app here!

(Psst.. Wilf.. which phone do you have? I have milestone/droid...)

WilfSell · 17/04/2010 00:06

Nancy - HTC desire and I blardy love it...

CaptainNancy · 19/04/2010 22:34

DH had a G1, just got a Nexus.
He thinks the screen is much better on my milestone though.

WebDude · 19/04/2010 23:20

"Third, he told me my garden was messy (it is) and tried to sell me his garden services because he's a gardener"

Blooming cheek! I know the response someone would get if they were here in a capacity not involving my garden and told me it was messy (mine is, too!)

loolop · 29/04/2010 22:59

Have just done my first ocado order after reading this thread - was a bit painful as it was the first one - am guessing it will get quicker??! Just to say I successfully used both the £10 off recommend a friend voucher (thanks belledejour!) and also the code ocadoannie gave earlier in the thread so all in all £25 off - fantastic! Paid for a one off delivery this time but if it is as good as I hope think will sign up for £9.99 unlimited deliveries!

kipperandtiger · 04/04/2012 23:26

I agree. That's if you're comparing Ocado with going to a Tesco store. Haven't used the online Tesco yet. If you use the free delivery slots Ocado offers and keep an eye out for bargains, it works out much cheaper than walking into any supermarket, and the range is often better. The only downside is that with meat and fruit/veg, if it matters to you that you eyeball every item or feel every fruit to check what you're buying, then internet grocery shopping won't work for you. If like many other mums like myself, you only have time to chuck things in, pay and get out of there, then online shopping is no different, and gives you time to hunt for what you want, even read reviews (some are v helpful and spot on) for items you've never bought before. Plus, Ocado often gives you little treats like a free bottle of wine or occasional discounts off all the shopping.

DeepThought · 04/04/2012 23:31

why have you bumped a 2 year old thread?

kipperandtiger · 04/04/2012 23:36

Sorry, somehow it appeared when I was searching for something. thanks for pointing out the date! Haha,.
