Just had my ocado delivery from Lemon van. Delivered on time, no missing items. £90 for a weeks shopping (no fruit and veg- i get that from the local shop). Includes 4 lots of chicken (drunksticks and fillet bits), 3 sea bass fillets. I am going to do the same shop with tesco and see how it measures up price wise. Must say I think the quality will be way better with ocado.

Feelingsensitive · 02/04/2010 13:54

I clearly haven't got enough to do:

Did a shop with ocado this week: £93.14

Did as near as possible the same shop with Sainsburys £84.07 and Tesco £78.79.

The quality of the ocado shop was much better and the majority of labelled goods I regularly buy were the same as Tesco. Although I did notice Sainsburys was often 1 or 2 pence more than Ocado and Tecso. So for me, the quality at Ocado is better for meat/bread/ham and thats where thr price difference was. I also noticed Tesco and Sainsburys had far more deals on mostly BOGOF type deals which I didnt select but
if I had the prices would have been similar although I would have got more for my money with Sainburys and Tesco. Still love ocado though.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/04/2010 14:00

Ocado have alot of 'buy 2 for a discount' type offers. It's only worth it if it's something you eat anyway, you can buy 2 and freeze 1 so you don't have to buy 1 the following week.

I would rather pay more for a delivery that turned up on time, with no substitutions and better quality of food, not to mention the politeness of the driver. The meat from Ocado does last longer as I'm not having to go through it for huge amounts of fat. Even the basics ham has no water added to it IIRC.

retiredgoth2 · 02/04/2010 14:03

...at my old address, I attempted to register with Ocado.

Sadly I was unable to.

..a pop up said, with (I think) a haughty sniff 'boxy commuter suburb? I think not! Edwardian terraces at the very least my man...

Then I moved. To a much nicer area. But in the sticks. And again tried to register with Ocado.

..this time, the pop up read 'I don't care how much Boden you have in your wardrobe, sunshine. Not going out there.. we'll get cowshit on the van'..

Or at least I think that's what it said.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/04/2010 14:06

ROFL!!

TrillianAstra · 02/04/2010 14:17

at retiredgoth's rather personal popup boxes. Mine are so generic, it's dull.

caughtinafog · 02/04/2010 15:00

I always spend less with an ocado on-line shop (they frequently send me 15% off vouchers) or Waitrose on-line, than with Tesco. I find that with a Tesco shop I am always hoovering up the multi-buys/bogof's, which just inflates the till receipt.

With the former I am just buy what we need.

OcadoAnnie · 02/04/2010 16:26

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny - I've sent an e-mail to your registered address. I hope we can resolve this soon (after the Easter weekend now unfortunately!)

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/04/2010 18:20

I've recieved that. Thankyou Annie I shall act on that ASAP.

I hope you have a lovely easter.

butterscotch · 04/04/2010 22:13

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny

yes please recommend me I've registered already with the Ocado website if that makes a difference???????

butterscotch · 05/04/2010 13:11

Boohoo they don't accept Visa Electron which my account for shopping is ;0( I was looking forward to using them got as far as the checkout when it told me very disappointed ;-(

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 05/04/2010 18:30

OcadoAnnie will come back for your queries or you can call customer service to ask about your card.

OcadoAnnie · 06/04/2010 12:14

butterscotch - Sorry about that; the only cards we don't take are Electron and Solo, as they can be held by people under 18, and we sell alcohol and cigarettes etc. It's a safety thing. What a shame though - perhaps you could use a different card?

Freezingmyarseoff · 06/04/2010 15:09

OcadoAnnie Thanks for volunteering to look into my delivery problems. I did speak to them several times to reshedule the delivery and they refunded the delivery costs
My order number was 3076399922

Anyway am trying again this week - have a delivery scheduled for tomorrow, hopefully it was just a one off

butterscotch · 06/04/2010 19:58

Thanks Ocadoanne I'm going go speak to the bank as my card expires in May about if they do another type if not might be time to move banks!!!!

OcadoAnnie · 07/04/2010 13:07

Freezingmyarseoff - Thanks for that. I've sent an e-mail to your registered address. Hope your delivery today was better!

Nettiespagetti · 08/04/2010 22:52

Hiya ocadoannie help please how on earth do I claim my free gift? I've ordered on my iPhone app but I've looked on normal website and can't figure it out?

Hope you can help

OcadoAnnie · 09/04/2010 11:55

Nettiespagetti - At the moment, you can't add voucher or coupon codes on the iPhone app, but if you edit the order on the website you can add codes on the last trolley page before checkout. There's a field to enter them at the top of the page, and when the code is added, the free gift (or discount) will be applied to the order! What did we offer you? Was it blueberries?

mrsboogie · 09/04/2010 12:03

Anyone use the £9.99 a month all inc delivery thing? it's fab - saves a fortune and you know that the price of your trolley is your total spend.

I love Ocado - especially for the quality of the meat and I spend way less than at Tesco.

The only complaint I have is that for the last 2 weeks running I have had broken eggs delivered.

Oh and they never send me any vouchers...

LoveJules3 · 09/04/2010 16:21

We used to get freebies all the time, and even got a bottle of wine when our delivery driver flipped his van. I didn't care, was more worried that he was ok but they were full of apologies regardless! Meat was fantastic, very rarely had a prob, and my dh said it was like his birthday when the delivery arrived! Thinking we may have to go back..... we only spent around £100 per fortnight rather than double that in sainsburys.

Nettiespagetti · 10/04/2010 21:33

Hi ocadoannie no it was plums this time and I missed out on last orders free blueberries as forgot all about it! I will try and get online properly and see of I get my free plums. Thx.

missboogie still trying to decided about the 9.99 as it's early days but have ordered 3 times now so prob spent that!

Still happy except from my broken cheese block which they sent apology email back. Which is brill customer service.

GrendelsMum · 11/04/2010 19:15

DH has a question for OcadoAnnie - when the reminder mail about the delivery comes through, it always says something like 'Your shopping will be delivered by Bob in a Lemon van', or 'Your shopping will be delivered by Christophe in a Cherry van'. What on earth is all this about different flavours of Ocado van?

Knownowt · 11/04/2010 22:48

I love Ocado, pay monthly for unlimited deliveries and do all my shopping with them.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that my friends who only shop with them occasionally get regular vouchers for money off, free bottles of wine etc whereas I, with my squillions-a-month Ocado habit, get nowt. I can see that it makes business sense- why incentivise people who are shopping with you anyway?- but I reckon Ocado should reward their loyal customers as well as their disloyal ones. I'd like to be an Ocado Gold shopper- free deliveries and extra freebies in return for my undying loyalty

ageing5yearseachyear · 11/04/2010 23:08

totally agree with knownowt.

i have lost count of how many people i have converted to Ocado. it would be nice to get a little reward every now and then esp at there is no longer the free copy of the times.

i do the 9.99 monthly pass- it is truly fab. there has been the odd thing that has been damaged through life in an ocado van- squashed bread, cucumber shoved in with frozen- but refunded in the blink of an eye.

how about a free meal with wine on the anniversary of starting to shop each year?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 11/04/2010 23:12

Thay already do that aging. You know you can get £30 for each friend you recommend aswell??
