It does tend to be true though. As for whether envy should be a sin it certainly doesn't make people very happy and if instead they can be content with what they have they might have more internal peace.

Miggsie · 30/08/2010 13:07

Well, whether rich or poor or in-between they come across as patronising, narrow minded and fundamentally unlikeable.

Xenia · 30/08/2010 13:40

It's just a marketing wheeze to get people to buy their stuff which may or may not work (I haven't seen their accounts to check if it does)

Zombie thread...Hmm

poorbuthappy · 24/06/2014 16:32

It's more telling that they are trawling the internet looking for themselves.
I'm sure there's been more recent threads about them!!! Grin

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 24/06/2014 16:33

you've got to love that Charlie has bumped up a 4 year old thread just to point out that Mumsnet is jealous Grin

In the words of my teenager "Epic Fail"

divingoffthebalcony · 24/06/2014 16:38

Haha, there was me thinking "Why on earth has this four year old thread been bumped?"

Ah, someone's been Googling themselves today, then.

QuizzicalCat · 24/06/2014 16:40

Hahaha! Idiot.

mumtobetothree · 24/06/2014 16:44

ineedausername · 24/06/2014 16:44

More like someone is after free publicity!

enormouse · 24/06/2014 17:09

IrianofWay · 24/06/2014 17:15

Ooh thanks for the reminder. I have a garage full of unwanted tatl Note to self: car boot on saturday.

ssd · 24/06/2014 17:16

business a bit slow then charlie?

NotYouNaanBread · 24/06/2014 17:17

I don't really see the problem. It's a brand like any other, and it sells a certain lifestyle.

He follows me on Instagram though, and "likes" pictures of my baking/children/random shit, so I'm quite forgiving. :)

DenzelWashington · 24/06/2014 17:21

Dignity, charlie, always dignity.

softlysoftly · 24/06/2014 17:24

Im confused? Someone has googled a 4 year old thread slagging them off and then bumped it.

How is that good for business Confused

PedlarsSpanner · 24/06/2014 17:24

Hurhur

Viviennemary · 24/06/2014 17:29

Didn't realise it was an ancient thread. Still if people can get rich from selling neon lidded jars then good luck to them. It's called enterprise!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/06/2014 17:30

But Charlie this isn't a Mumsnet Thread (price 1.99) its a Vintage Exposition of the Collective Thought Processes of a Virtual Community (price 327.47 + VAT).

PedlarsSpanner · 24/06/2014 17:35

I wish there was a cached page of The Spanner, we chortled like mad

DenzelWashington · 24/06/2014 17:39

My husband really wanted that spanner. Enough to pay full price for it apparently. I had to Put My Foot Down.

Elsiequadrille · 24/06/2014 17:40

Somebody always posts the 'I saw you Coming' clip on a Pedlars thread.Grin I wonder why

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/06/2014 17:42

I found the old spanner thread. I'd forgotten how much it cost. Wasn't if from an old Michelin factory or similar
