Yes - it's clearly not a spanner but a cock wrench!

nighbynight · 11/03/2010 20:29

95 quid for a gurnsey on their website

LadyBiscuit · 11/03/2010 20:32

I hate, hate, HATE people who sign off anything to people they don't know (unless they have just experienced some huge trauma) with 'love' and x. Fuck the fuck off.

Love LadyB x

Right, no one took me on with regard to the dead swan as a novel plaything for a child's back.I thought it still had it's head attached but it is the child's hair.

Do they feed their children the swan gubbins?

What is wrong with an ordinary swanless rucksack?

DastardlyandSmugly · 11/03/2010 20:48

They remind me of these people

theyoungvisiter · 11/03/2010 20:52

I nearly died laughing at that Michelin spanner. £700 for a SPANNER?

Do you think it comes with a free badge that reads "I'm a total spanner"?

mathanxiety · 11/03/2010 20:56

They are the parents of Wolfgang, twins Bellamy and Tallulah, Breaker, twins again Five and Holleder, and little Major.

HerHonesty · 11/03/2010 20:58

you guys are funny!

theyoungvisiter · 11/03/2010 21:05

Darstardly that is vomilarious

I love their website - "together this couple wear all the hats"! Yay! Go you guys!

BomDigger · 11/03/2010 21:06

Had a look at this thread earlier.

I have spent all night periodically shaking my head saying "£700 for a spanner!"

OrientCalf · 11/03/2010 21:11

dastardly their website moves too much - makes me seasick

Booboobedoo · 11/03/2010 21:11

I was all ready to defend, but that is truly jaw-dropping.

They make the monthly Junior article about some-poncy-family-or-other seem positively humble.

You know the ones:

"We like to pop to Fortnum and Mason most weekends. Farquar and Quentinella won't eat quails eggs from anywhere else".

weegiemum · 11/03/2010 21:13

Is there any evidence that they have ever sold anything (apart from the flagpole?)

Maybe seeker is the only customer they have ever had?

Northernlurker · 11/03/2010 21:16

Just seen this on the blog (about the fact that they've got one wall littered with framed photos and shit:

'We have had the house featured in quite a few mags, Elle Deco, Living etc, The Guardian, that sort of thing. And they all love this area; it always features. Anyway, back to the flood. We took most of the pictures down, and yesterday they were all ready to be rehung. We did it in the same random way that we did it in the first place, in other words in the order that we came to them. So, the results are the same but different.'

DastardlyandSmugly · 11/03/2010 21:21

Oh yes but did you notice that little Five is child number five...

DastardlyandSmugly · 11/03/2010 21:22

By the way the swan thing on the Peddlars site reminds me of the Red Riding Trilogy by David Peace. This is NOT A GOOD THING...

Buddleja · 11/03/2010 21:32

Novogratzs don't look as happy as the Gladstones (see even their name is happy)

However I think they are both perfect families who never argue and the children have never ever had a tantrum and they probably have mind blowing sex several times a day too (the parents - obviously!)

I'm judging this by looking at one photo of each family

DastardlyandSmugly · 11/03/2010 21:42

Buddleja I totally agree.

The Novogratz's have a reality series in the US that I really want Living to show.

Ulrikakaka · 11/03/2010 21:43

weegiemum,
yes, I am an ex-customer (now)...
Bought a magnetic world map for my Dad a couple of years ago; it was about £100, but he really wanted it.
Recently my brother expressed a desire for the same map, and being such a generous family girl, I thought I'd get it for his birthday...; only now it's nearly £200!
That's how they make their money...
Greed. (And my brother got a top from Boden... - no he didn't.)

jasper · 11/03/2010 21:53

boak

porcamiseria · 11/03/2010 21:57

did they really come on a thread about them (a la Gina..)????

Buddleja · 11/03/2010 22:48

Well I've had a proper look at the website now and have instantly cleared by house of everything and will be planning on ordering everything off their website as it had become obvious to me that my life's been unfilled up to now

I hope they do beds as they kids are a little annoyed that I've just turfed them out of their beds to throw out the beds. However if they don't I shall simply order several of these. Cost about the same as a bed

MisSalLaneous · 11/03/2010 23:13

Oh, I have to admit I love all that rubbish quirky, uhm, stuff, they sell... Should really be ashamed, but instead wish I had more money than sense (which doesn't look too difficult to achieve, I have to admit).

They do however seem very impressed with themselves, so YANBU.

Any similar sites? I've wasted a good evening already, might as well continue.
