...to think that a man who "doesn't drive" is not remotely sexy

I saw this on another thread (doesn't matter which) and didn't want to hijack it with my silly ramblings

but, I can't imagine being with a man who "doesn't drive" (disabilities notwithstanding)

just someone too lazy to learn, who would let their OH chauffeur them around

there is something very appealing (sexy) about a man who drives well

mind you, I have a thing about a well-shaped wrist on a man , and driving in short sleeves shows that off to perfection

am I showing my age here ?

Don't crawl away - just look after yourself. I don't know you, I only come on here, but hope your week gets better.

I think that if a man said he really loved women who could drive and found them sexy (ala Thelam & Louise - convertables, soft tops - I know nothing of cars so am talking out of my behind) it wouldn't make me feel sad that I couldn't drive, and it wouldn't make me dwell on being an epileptic. He wouldn't have meant to hurt me, he has his own inbuilt preferences when looking for a mate and I am not inferior because my brain won't let me drive. And neither is Mr Incont.

notbloodybranston · 30/01/2010 20:03

I only come on here EVERY FEW DAYS

'It's a petrolhead that the majority crave?'

No, darling, it's a rich petrolhead the majority crave .

MadOldCrone · 30/01/2010 20:08

From this thread I deduce I prefer cavemen.

And a chap with his own power tools. You folk with the beardies are welcome to them.

YANBU AF. In fact I would also go so far as to say a man who drives a nissan micra, or a fiat cinquecento is EVEN worse than one who doesn't drive [dons hard hat!].

( Have just spent a few days on a thread I started about people not driving and not giving lifts, so am a bit hyped up about the subject!!!

Plus my DH drives, but ALSO is a very keen cyclest (cycles to work few days each week). )

MadOldCrone · 30/01/2010 20:09

UCM is that you?

Goblinchild · 30/01/2010 20:09

I wouldn't say no to a chauffered limo.
So the owner, rich and non-driving wouldn't have to split his concentration...other than to pour the champagne.

Nancy66 · 30/01/2010 20:10

I'm also a bit turned off when men can't do basic DIY things like putting up a shelf or changing a tyre.

expatinscotland · 30/01/2010 20:10

Oh, yes, I need a man who drives, can operate power tools AND has a big dick.

Age, race, creed unimportant .

MiladyDeWinter · 30/01/2010 20:17

I remember the other thread, it was brilliant! Thank you for bringing this important issue to the fore once again.

YANBU. Driving is very sexy in a man especially with the gear-stick action. I didn't get the hots for DH quite as much when we had an automatic.

That is not to say that a non-driving fit cycling man isn't. Also, I'm sure I would still find DH attractive if we were rich enough to afford a driver and could charter helicopters into the city.

MadOldCrone · 30/01/2010 20:18

LISTEN TO EXPAT PEOPLE

A driver, a driller and a donkey. Phwoooarrr.

Undercovamutha · 30/01/2010 20:18

Madoldcrone - no its not, if you mean UNDERCOVERMOTHER.
I have been Undercovamutha for about 6 months, and have only recently started having people ask 'UCM is that you'!!!
Was a bit confused at first!!!!

Peachy · 30/01/2010 20:18

Hmmm

don't think fdriving matters to me bt I never ever fancied a man who didnt have a specialism he loved and was enthusiastic about (didnt have to be his job)- enthsiasm and passion V V V sexy indeed.

morningpaper · 30/01/2010 20:19

I couldn't fancy a man who couldn't drive

It is too wet

I don't mind being the one who wields the power tools though

It makes me feel better about my lack of career/pension

GibbonInARibbon · 30/01/2010 20:19

Nothing like a good drilling.

MadOldCrone · 30/01/2010 20:19

Oh, and a man who prefers a flappy paddle is NOT sexy. A limp wristed gear change does not a passionate man make.

Give me a double clutcher any day.

RoseWater · 30/01/2010 20:22

other thread lots of discussion about arm behind head-rest style reversing too

doubleinstructions · 30/01/2010 20:23

NonDePlume...completely agree,woof indeed.

shonaspurtle · 30/01/2010 20:24

My 92 year old granny can drive.

Driving is sexy? Really?

ImSoNotTelling · 30/01/2010 20:25

Good lord. Am at all these people getting hot under the collar at the sight of a "well turned wrist" or "tanned forearm" "decicively changing gear" really???

This is not a fetish I have ever ever heard of before in my life. How odd. I have never looked at DHs arms lustfully while he was driving. I mean, he's just driving, he looks much the same as when he's doing other stuff.

I did go out with someone who couldn't drive for years as well. But he had a fuck-off massive motorbike. That is more sexy, I'm sure.

Plus if you live in city no need to drive. I am turned on by eco-friendly tube catching nice person. (Although DH drives to work... And for work... Hmm)

scottishmummy · 30/01/2010 20:26

clarkson drives and hes an ugly fucker.so yabu
