...to think that a man who "doesn't drive" is not remotely sexy

I saw this on another thread (doesn't matter which) and didn't want to hijack it with my silly ramblings

but, I can't imagine being with a man who "doesn't drive" (disabilities notwithstanding)

just someone too lazy to learn, who would let their OH chauffeur them around

there is something very appealing (sexy) about a man who drives well

mind you, I have a thing about a well-shaped wrist on a man , and driving in short sleeves shows that off to perfection

am I showing my age here ?

UQD, I very much doubt that my silly ramblings about sexy drivers and a well-turned wrist fuel anything at all, tbh

do you ? really ?

I said we should stop thinking it's grown up to be dependent on it. Not that we should stop being dependent on it.

Selective reading, eh? Awful behaviour.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2010 18:07

UQD, you are starting to sound like Sensitive Ponytail Man.

UnquietDad · 31/01/2010 18:08

Anyfucker - as with anything, it depends how illustrative the attitude is of women in the wider world, really.

AnyFucker · 31/01/2010 18:09

do you know what ?

the most shocking thing for me on this thread was when it took a revisionist detour into the wearing of short-sleeved shirts...

and some lovely person said it (and I paraphrase)..."smacked of municipal worker..."

nice

bruxeur · 31/01/2010 18:09

lol at UQD's distaste for revisionism, as elegantly demonstrated by turning a thread about being able to drive, and relying on others for lifts...

...into men who are so into driving that they have lost their very humanity!

It's like Dr Moreau's Driving School round here.

It's just progressing the argument.... as embraced by the OP herself. Familiar with that, bruxeur? You sound like someone with a bit of a pomme frite on your epaule about some previous tussle.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2010 18:12

I happen to like municipal workers, provided they drive and have large members, too.

bruxeur · 31/01/2010 18:13

Oh, you've calmed down. How sad .

SolidGoldBrass · 31/01/2010 18:13

Actaully, thinking about the various billions of men I have shagged, I rather think the majority of them have been car-free. Some of those may have been technically able to drive but didn't own cars, I was never interested enough to ask.
I do appreciate that if you live in the country (or have mobility issues or 3 under-5s or do a job or have a hobby that involves transporting lots of stuff around) then you need to drive and have access to a vehicle - one of my formerly non-driving mates did in fact learn to drive and buy a car in his 30s because he moved to the sticks and became a parent, fair enough.
But as one or two others have said, for us sophisticated city types, car free living is sexier and a lot more fun. You don't have to fanny about hunting for places to park, and worrying that your car will get stolen. If you're on a day's adventuring you don't have to fuss about getting back before the parking meter runs out. Oh, and you can oh-dear-miss-the-last-train if you want to try and cop off with someone who lives nearer the party than you do...
In fact the only real advantage of dating a man with a car in the city is if you want to go dogging. That;s the one perversion I have never tried purely due to carlessness.

UnquietDad · 31/01/2010 18:13

Anyway, I have Big Manly Cooking With Meat to do now, so I can't hang around here arguing transport methods with you post-feminists.

AnyFucker · 31/01/2010 18:14

bruxeur, I agree

pot ? kettle ?....etc

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 31/01/2010 18:15

Is dogging still en vogue?

UnquietDad · 31/01/2010 18:15

(SGB I read that as carelessness first )

Snorbs · 31/01/2010 18:46

Just out of interest, what about someone who doesn't drive a car but does ride a motorbike?

AnyFucker · 31/01/2010 18:49

I only know one bloke who rides a motorbike, and he is a cock of the highest order

and also physically unattractive (IMHO), so am unable to comment on that snorbs

do you ride a motorbike ?

'I think it is a very 'small town' sort of attitude to sneer at non drivers as being in some way less worthy. '

It's a good thing we live in a small town then .

AnyFucker · 31/01/2010 19:09

sprogger, I say you are onto something there...
