Men shouldn't wear scarves

It isn't manly.

If you are worried about a cold neck get a coat with a bigger collar.

Don't wear a scarf (especially the stripy ones) especially looped like a girl.

he he he I YANBU

skidoodle · 28/01/2010 12:46

YABU

My DH looks really sexy when he wears a scarf.

I'm not sure he'd look so good with a massive collar on his coat. I'm imagining Percy from Blackadder.

onebatmother · 28/01/2010 12:46

lol getorf esp at looped like a girl.
I'm afraid I agree with you.

onebatmother · 28/01/2010 12:47

DP says same thing but in more offensive language.
Feels similarly about flip flops.

ILovePlayingDarts · 28/01/2010 12:48

Try working outside all day in the weather we've had recently. I think you'll change your objections to men wearing scarves. My DP has needed one, and not for silly fashion reasons.

Keepo · 28/01/2010 12:48

I have a male friend who wears one of these

yuk

[shudder]

TrillianAstra · 28/01/2010 12:48

I think it isn't manly to refuse to wear a practical item of clothing for fear that GetOrf will think you unmanly

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 12:49

Lol at percy.

No tisn't manly. It's a girls accessory. Nex they will be wearing alice bands and fingerless floves (oh hang on...)

OP posts:
diedandgonetodevon · 28/01/2010 12:49

YABU although it does depend on how they wear it.

theagedparent · 28/01/2010 12:50

YANBU. Also men shouldn't sit with their legs crossed, just looks so wrong.

Keepo · 28/01/2010 12:50

I saw a man in an Alice band the other day

Francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2010 12:51

Men have worn scarves since forever. Perhaps not in the UK, where the weather is notoriously mild

Heathcliffscathy · 28/01/2010 12:51

men who won't wear scarves because they consider that the are not manly enough clearly have anxieties about their sexuality and/or their penis size.

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 12:51

Oh no it's not unmanly to be afraid of my wrath, is prudent

DP works outside all hours and if he wore a scarf I would garrott him with it laugh at him. Nah - he is a builder and if he wore a scarf it would get in the way of all his building activities, would end up trailing the fringes in some cement, he would have to toss the scarf over his shoulder and I think his labourers would laugh at him.

TrillianAstra · 28/01/2010 12:52

Keepo - is your friend aged over 17?

Hulababy · 28/01/2010 12:52

My DH wears a stripy scarf, looped. I got it for him infact.

He is manly enough to say no to the OP's request

Sn0wflake · 28/01/2010 12:53

YABU men look great in scarves. I think it makes them look sexy. White socks and black shoes are a different matter however.

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 12:53

In what realm of the universe are scarves sexy? On anyone?.

Is obviously an unrecognised fetish.

OP posts:
Keepo · 28/01/2010 12:54

Trillian he is 45

Heathcliffscathy · 28/01/2010 12:54

I wonder if there is a direct positive correlation between ability to carry off a scarf and ability in the sack? wonders off pondering whether non-scarf wearing men are wham bam merchants or not.

GibbonInARibbon · 28/01/2010 12:54

I have seen many a manly man in a scarf so my vote is YABU.

Although I will concede to the looping being wrong.

Heathcliffscathy · 28/01/2010 12:55

my (tall, dark and handsome barf) dh is currently sporting a gorgeous soft green cotton diesel scarf that I bought him for xmas with his new leather jacket which I bought for his bday and he looks edible.

BigBadMummy · 28/01/2010 12:55

My DH wears a scarf and it makes me think "pwoar" whenever I see him in it.

Keepo · 28/01/2010 12:57

GibbonInARibbon · 28/01/2010 12:57
