Men shouldn't wear scarves

It isn't manly.

If you are worried about a cold neck get a coat with a bigger collar.

Don't wear a scarf (especially the stripy ones) especially looped like a girl.

(can you tell I hate football and men's juvenile obsession with it to the detriment of family life ?)

Mumcentreplus · 28/01/2010 13:36

..man-bags are worse surely

I dont mind scarves..its about who's wearing them ie hot guys, not grandads with food stains on them..
DH doesn't wear a scarf..he does wear a hat though

Cranreuch · 28/01/2010 13:38

yabu

crankytwanky · 28/01/2010 13:38

Oooh I love a man in a scarf.
Except, of course a football scarf.

YABU.

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 13:40

YABU
It took enough to try and get DP into a coat this winter, let alone a scarf (he doesn't believe in warm clothing. He's in denial about these things). I think he looks hawt, but then he doesn't loop it like a muppet.

Agree re: umbrellas. Held above himself, (especially while woman gets drenched), not manly. Holding above woman, while he gets drenched - manly.

manly

manly 2

Super MANLY

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 13:41

Not manly. Prat

Jamieandhismagictorch · 28/01/2010 13:41

Colin Firth - Phooar

abride · 28/01/2010 13:42

Men in scarves (tied correctly) look very sexy.

Doesn't, pant, Harry in Silent Witness WITNESS, wear an artlessly-looped scarf.

Habbibu · 28/01/2010 13:42

So manly is being cold, wet and carrying belongings piled high a la crackerjack? looks more like just incompetence to me. Surely it's more manly to be practical?

Poledra · 28/01/2010 13:43

Ummm, Serenity, your links are giving the same photo of Cameron Diaz each time (the first one of the 99!).

Jamieandhismagictorch · 28/01/2010 13:44

abride - Mmm Harry - cannot for the life decide if

a) he is sexy
b) he is a bit of a twonk
c) he can't act

abride · 28/01/2010 13:49

I kind of know what you mean, Jamieandhismagictorch.
But I still like his scarves...

noddyholder · 28/01/2010 13:51

Dp wears hat scarf bag and wait for it......bangle!!!!!

SerenityNowAKABleh · 28/01/2010 13:52

Bollocks. Well, there was a picture of Courtney Cox Arquette and her husband - him holding umbrella over her (no. 3)
Then, Felicity Huffman and William Macy, and he's holding it over her, while maintaining a suitable distance so she can do FAB posing. (no. 24)

Finally, for the prat, Ricky Gervais has the umbrella over himself, while GF has to try and get under it (no. 37)

Habbibu · 28/01/2010 13:52

Well, gf should get her own umbrella, surely?

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 14:04

YABU, I love DH in a scarf, he wears it wrapped, not looped and it is stripey (not a football scarf, boak)

Very much phwoar he looks.

Mind you, I also like a man in a kikoy

and

and a kilt too

so perhaps my vote should be void...

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 14:09

Ricky Gervais is a prat, a greasy prat.

It was vital he kept the rain off or there'd be a red carpet oil slick and all the shiny people would fall down.

At least he could have given her a bit of the umbrella.
I don't particularly like him; I don't think he was acting in the office, hence a bit (very) biased.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 28/01/2010 14:15

Yes they should .

Mumcentreplus · 28/01/2010 14:28

a SNOOD?..bluddy hell now that should be illegal for man, woman and child!

belgo · 28/01/2010 14:31

I love my snood, it's great for not messing up my hair like hats do.

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 14:41

Snoods should be banned. There is literally nothing to be said on the subject.

I don't like umbrella's, not to be anthropomorphic about it but they are nasty pieces of work and I won't have them in my house.

I cannot believe that you all like men with scarves. This is not what i would have expected from MNers.

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 14:41

Umbrellas I mean
