Men shouldn't wear scarves

It isn't manly.

If you are worried about a cold neck get a coat with a bigger collar.

Don't wear a scarf (especially the stripy ones) especially looped like a girl.

YABVU.

My husband has a smart black wool coat as part of his business dress, and has a plain scarf to wear with it for when it is particularly cold.
Nothing unmanly about that at all!

GetOrfMoiLand · 28/01/2010 15:03

Madamedeathstare - you do know that your DH will buy a revenge present (bath cubes, powder pink coloured knickers from BHS) now for valentine's day, don't you

The nature of fashion is that something new looks cool for all of 5 minbutes before EVERY BUGGER and his dog are wearing it. Stripey scarves on men (looped under) are one of those things. It used to look quite cool. Now it looks crap. Nuff said.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/01/2010 15:09

I think other men look good in scarves.

Would only look good on dh if he tied it round his cock

DH thinks they're not manly either

DH has not one but two stripey scarves, I love them on him, so there!
YABVVVVVU.

Dp wears scarves, smokes minty cigarettes and drinks cherry pints........so gay.

He eats red meat and owns a drill which as everyone knows is the cure for gayness.

BendyBob · 28/01/2010 16:03

Lol! How can a scarf upset anyone?? It's January fgs. Unless it's a pashmina of course - dh would look odd in one of them all right

gothgirl77 · 28/01/2010 16:12

Depends on the scarf, surely?
DH looks pretty dashing in his grey one ... a pom-pom scarf would, however, look very unmanly indeed.

Men have just as mich right as women to wear warm clothes, accessorise, and look good.

It does too look manly.

overmydeadbody · 28/01/2010 16:25

there are manly warm winter scarves and then there are silly pretentious bits of cloth shaped into scarves that men should not wear.

claw3 · 28/01/2010 16:34

Im more concerned with men who own cats, sure sign they have bodies buried under the floor boards.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/01/2010 16:50

getorf- have you seem my DH?? he wears a scarf looped like a girl, it's a lovely scarf i must say- but he doesn't do it or himself justice the way he wears it!!

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2010 16:57

yeah men in gorgeous scarves woah i like a man who's in touch with his feminine side.
i know they don't wear many scarves in the Scarlet Pimpernel but have you seen Richard E Grant in it?? Tasty or what ?Did n't he wear one in Withnail?

onebatmother · 28/01/2010 16:58

Tolalola · 28/01/2010 19:45

I've worn a scarf in the recent bad weather.
Being a man I'm able to choose what to wear without needing a woman's permission (or that of a fashion magazine come to that)

Igglybuff · 28/01/2010 19:58

YABU

According to wiki men were the original wearers of scarves. Wiki being the font of all knowledge

ABetaDad what have you been up to in the shed with that scarf?

Igglybuff rofl at 'young man wearing a scarf indoors' Is that the best man-wearing-scarf picture they could come up with?

scaryteacher · 29/01/2010 07:54

Dh has a lovely navy cashmere scarf to go with his overcoat on really cold days.

He also has the white silk scarf to go with his mess kit, but I seem to have purloined it!
