...... Having never actually heard it, and only because I honestly cannot stand the X factor and the way there is no fun in the Christmas single race anymore

DH has bought it too, so it's not just me.

PS team cola to win.

YANBU, I have never heard it but me and DH are going to download it as I am fed up with some x factor miserable bollocks being the xmas number one.

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 19:57

Brunette.. Don't leave it too late!!

It is bollocks and I heard part of the x factor song today and it was c**p. This time next year that boy will be in pantomime in Portsmouth. No offence to Portsmouth.

I have bought neither because both are rubbish.

Paolosgirl · 19/12/2009 20:02

YABU

He's just a young lad doing nobody any harm. It's a shame that he's got caught up in something like this because people don't like Simon Cowell/X Factor/commercialisation of music/whatever.

Go Joe....good luck to him, I say.

harimorrychristmas · 19/12/2009 20:02

We've bought RATM for ourselves and our two teenagers. Got to be better than X Factor drivel

You have until midnight to download it. It costs 99p - not much more than an X factor vote and I think it might just send a good message to ITV / Simon Cowell.

harimorrychristmas · 19/12/2009 20:05

ANd I agree with Jinglealltheway...

He's going the same way as Steve Brookstein, Leon Jackson, Shane Ward... Sorry, but you KNOW that he is.

It is sad for him personally to be caught up in what is, actually, about SImon Cowell... but then X factor and everytthing associated with it is actually far more about Cowell than actual talent.

I personally don't mind Joe... but I DETEST the way X factor has these little girls (I can't call them women) just there to rock up to SImon Cowell's ego.

MEH!!

It is weird. Have never bought a song that I've not heard before. Titter titter.

Christmas number ones used to be a great competition. There's no fun in it anymore.

YANBU at all.

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 20:16

Is there no childrens choir then?

OP posts:
harimorrychristmas · 19/12/2009 20:18

Yeah, Jinglealltheway - Best not to have young children or those of a nervous / sensitive disposition close by when you listen to it!!

Mind, saying that... Our kids are 15, 11, 1 and 4 months and we've probably listened to it half a dozen times today!!

Apparently, they still need 10,000 more downloads to be absolutely sure of the No. 1 slot... so PLEASE.. buy it.

Even if it just to make a point!! Come on guys, it's 99p!! (and NONE of it goes to Simon Cowell! )

jeep · 19/12/2009 20:19

wish everyone would have voted for the muppet song instead

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 20:23

Am going to buy it again!! I don't know that it is the sort of thing I like really... who knows I may never listen to it

OP posts:
yojojo · 19/12/2009 20:23

I've bought RATM but I feel sorry for Joe at the same time, he looks the type that cries . I'm just so bored of the X factor.
Love ratm too.

Jingle - Just remember you can only buy 2 copies per Itunes account.. anymore will still be charged but may not be counted!

Jeep - My dad thought the muppet song was great!!!

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 20:24

I love the muppets. That mght have been a better alternative.

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 20:28

lostinwales · 19/12/2009 20:28

And whatever anyone says about 'poor Joe' in all of this, with all the exposure he's had on prime time TV, if he dosen't make a go of his career it won't be because of a lack of christmas number one. I'm off to Amazon now to download all those cuss words!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 19/12/2009 20:30

Simon Cowell must be a very happy man at the moment as he wins both ways as he owns the record label for both!

Paolosgirl · 19/12/2009 20:32

Christmas just isn't Christmas without a novelty act - or a drunkard with band teeth singing along to the boys of NYPD choir.

More Wizard (or those lovely Wham boys) please - and not a cuss word to be heard. Lovely!

BlackYellowRed · 19/12/2009 20:32

DH and I both bought the RATM song. Reminds me of when I saw them live at a festival in 1994.

Katz · 19/12/2009 20:35

The reason i have bought RATM is because i don't believe its Joe right to have a number 1 just because he won the X-Factor. Whilst X Factor used to be about discovering unknown talent i now feel it's lost its way, the sucess of a group like Jedward helped to cement this belief. Joe has an above average voice but in the scheme if things his version of the climb is pretty bland, much as i never thought i'd say this Miley Cyrus's version is so much better and actually has feeling and emotion in it, Joe just sings it well.

Off to download a couple more copies of RATm from amazon only 29p and they apparently count.
