And sending your ironing out doesnt count

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 13/11/2009 10:17

Nope. DH's shirts are fine if they are hung up to dry. Nothing I own needs ironing.

Does look scruffy, but I am guilty of being a scruff some of the time.

sprouting · 13/11/2009 10:18

I don't wear shirts or uniforms. Dcs uniforms don't need ironing. I probably iron about 10 things a year but usually only if I'm going to an occasion.

VinegarTits · 13/11/2009 10:18

I think your a scruff bag Reality

I never iron, and I dont send it out either. If DH wants a shirt he is old enough and ugly enough to iron it himself. It must be literally years since I have held an iron.

VinegarTits · 13/11/2009 10:20

What about sheets and duvets, too big to go in the drier

You must all sleep in crumpled beds

midnightexpress · 13/11/2009 10:20

I very rarely iron. Tumble drier gets most of the creases out. Occasionally Dp's shirt might need an iron for work (but he's working away from home atm, so that's not an issue ).

Frankly, I don't give a monkeys if I look a bit rumpled.

PlantASeedWatchItGrow · 13/11/2009 10:20

I don't iron! DP doesn't wear shirts, neither do I.

I don't think I look scruffy.

I would iron cotton shirts, if I wore them.

I think if you did a lineup with me, my friend who irons everything and a bunch of people in the middle you wouldn't be able to reliably tell who didn't iron.

I don't have a tumble dryer either.

VinegarTits · 13/11/2009 10:21

Ironing clothes makes them look that little bit smarter (even if they have been in the tumle drier) and that extra effort makes you stand out from the scruffs

OP posts:
hewlettsdaughter · 13/11/2009 10:22

I get the iron out for hama beads mainly

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 13/11/2009 10:22

"What about sheets and duvets, too big to go in the drier"

We have a super kingsize bed and the sheets and the duvet cover manage to go in the drier at the same time, you must have the smallest tumble drier in the world.

Tryingtobeorganisedthisyear · 13/11/2009 10:22

Non-iron shirts from M&S come out great from the tumble dryer...then under a pinafore and cardi

Most of DS stuff gets dried flat on radiator, then he just rolls around on the floor at home and playgroup!

I try and buy stuff that doesn't need much ironing so the pile stays small!

VinegarTits · 13/11/2009 10:23

Tumble drying everything is just bad for the envoriment

You dont iron because you must be lazy, using tumble drier to get creases out is also lazy

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 13/11/2009 10:23

In what sense do you 'stand out from the scruffs'? As being a bit smoother. Which is better because...?

MavisEnderby · 13/11/2009 10:23

I am always f-ing ironing.I hate it with a passion.Agree fleeces can be hung up but have to iron anything cotton, bedding, school and my uniforms and so on.I yearn for a tumble drier but no room

TrillianAstra · 13/11/2009 10:24

You don't need to iron bedsheets. They're only going to get slept on (and maybe other things ). Who's going to see them? It's madness.
