To think that some folk take this far too seriously

There are some posters who seem to feel they are operating in a War Zone. In a War Zone where only they are allowed guns. They can say what they like but as soon as somebody bites back it "Hey Ho, Hey Ho its off to Mumsnet HQ I go".

99% of what gets posted is just light relief not the end of civilisation as we know it.

hmm.

trouble with this particular one is that it's quite convincing and after reading a couple of its posts, I then start "seeing" it all over the place...absolutely stacks yesterday. And I do find that, in spite of myself, just about everything I look at-for that day, at any rate- I have a approach to even before I read it.

...then I start thinking that maybe tis intentional, and that because there's a vaguely misogynistic tone to a lot of its (oh, alright, his) stuff the troll is really seeing himself as a sort of "foxy in the henhouse" type. He gets a kick out of not being spotted, and a kick out of being spotted as well.

I know I'm stating the bleedin obvious here...but what a very strange way to spend your time...

I'm lost. Somebody please drop an incredibly easy to understand hint. I'm not very bright.

RedLentil · 11/11/2009 12:01

Could you use advanced search to see who has been chatting about what today?

The over-concern with 'rewarding' people who respond with personal thanks is a bit of a feature ...

gorionine · 11/11/2009 12:07

I am absolutely certain I am not drunk, can someone explain to me why this thread is giving me a headache, appart from the fact I do not seem to understand half the posts?

PerArduaAdNauseum · 11/11/2009 12:15

gorionine - do you have Swine Flu perhaps?

Reality, I still do not get it but at least I just had a good laugh!

pagwatch · 11/11/2009 12:24

gorionine

perhaps you should have a drink?

pagwatch · 11/11/2009 12:26

can I say aswell that the OPs idea that we should all have guns was not properly considered.
I think arming posters would add a certain frisson to an evenings MNing

gorionine · 11/11/2009 12:26

I think I will just go to bed instead. I will try to read the thread again when I wake up, in a couple of days.

Hullygully · 11/11/2009 12:27

I've had to put myself away.

Booyhoo · 11/11/2009 12:29

Booyhoo · 11/11/2009 12:33

Interestingly my post and Harebelles post on that Bigsislittlebro one have been deleted by mumsnet... does this mean the op wasn't Extended???? There is no way on God's earth they were real.
