To think that some folk take this far too seriously

There are some posters who seem to feel they are operating in a War Zone. In a War Zone where only they are allowed guns. They can say what they like but as soon as somebody bites back it "Hey Ho, Hey Ho its off to Mumsnet HQ I go".

99% of what gets posted is just light relief not the end of civilisation as we know it.

OP posts:

The dizzymare stuff is as draining as moldies to explain , but basically, discreet doubts were expressed, then MNHQ made the HUGE mistake of pulling the rather diplomatic thread and a zillion sprang up its place, getting ever more shrill, as nobody likes to feel in the dark etc etc. Dizzymare used a poster as a mouthpiece via text and email (although she hasn't been seen in RL) and said she was upset about being thought a troll. Then MNHQ said they'd ask her discreetly for some background info so they could reassure people it wasn't just a huge scam for attention/the xmas appeal/whatever. She never replied to them.

To some that says Troll (me included), as I would want to prove myself to be real and then stick two fingers up to the disbelievers. Other people were much more "OMG, why would she want to answer her emails to MNHQ when she has just lost her beautiful babies?" etc etc (ignoring that she was online within hours of the medical event blah blah).

So officially, we shall never know. But I know what I think.

ditto, whats a poly?

podgesmummy · 10/11/2009 20:13

god, my computers slow..

RedLentil · 10/11/2009 20:17

Twas Habbibu not Hullygully who eulogised threadworm's guinea pig.
guinea pig. It's in mumsnet classics.

The poet's art is alive and well here. More poets than trolls on balance too which is a good thing.

I hope things get better soon hully

But I don't think there's loads of them, I think there's one particular one who has a stock of these 400 word starter pack 'characters' and just uses them when the medication isn't working that well. (Sometimes has 2 or more on the go. I call him Whining Git.

There are others but not as persistent and repetitive.

BitOfFun · 10/11/2009 20:20

Blimey, if you could get posts deleted that you look a twat in, I'd only have about three left- don't worry about it

Defluffmyfanjo · 10/11/2009 20:20

Just posted on that bigsis thread. Preparing to get flamed.

catinthehat2 · 10/11/2009 20:21

And its always nice to see a very new contributor to Mumsnet particularly on such a recherche thread.

Must be hard to get those names changed quickly!

catinthehat2 · 10/11/2009 20:24

As I've said before - and perhaps its a good opportunity to make a direct appeal AND since we seem to be in the presence so to speak:

"Go away troll you are an annoying little tit"

AnyFucker · 10/11/2009 20:31

catinthehat2 · 10/11/2009 20:35

So many poorly written pieces of creative writing

So little time.

catinthehat2 · 10/11/2009 20:37

Oh, I've stopped taking the hormone tablets, and am more prepared than some to admit that my precious babies are entirely fictional

AnnVan · 10/11/2009 20:57

Ah Lenin - I saw that thread too, but didn't read very much past the op tbh. I'm not one for sniffing out trolls (I was fooled by the sodding pink wedding thread ffs )
But this thread really started tickling a certain troll radar in me that I didn't know existed.

wastingaway · 10/11/2009 21:01

Me too AnnVan, I'm terribly gullible, but MN is helping me hone my troll-sniffing abilities.

BitOfFun · 10/11/2009 21:06

I think I agreed with tsc on the coke thread...
