to think that the 'art director' of this well known chain of hairdressers is a twunt?

we are very low on funds at the moment - job finished next week so no money for luxuries at the moment. So when I saw a notice in the window of this hairdressers saying guinea pigs wanted for training stylists to practice cuts/colours/highlights on I thought I'd go in and volunteer. Woman on reception says 'ooh yes you have long hair you would be perfect, are you willing to be adventurous?" I reply that yes I would and prior to small people making an appearance I was quite with it as it were . She trots of to get the self appointed fart director who comes down stairs looks me up and down and says am I aware that this salon is at the cutting edge of fashion and styling and maybe I should try elsewhere Am I unreasonable to feel a bit embarrassed and humilitated and wanting to shove a pair of 'cutting edge' scissors sideways??

What is worse is that this chain have cut and coloured my hair for nearly 12 years now, they've just lost my custom

YANBU

Sbeanmum · 05/11/2009 19:19

Meant art director is cheeky swine, BTW

Restrainedrabbit · 05/11/2009 19:23

I wondered if I was being oversensitive as I am having a crisis of image at the moment - usual post children thing of having to reassess what suits me and find a new style. Plus I have PMT so I am a force to be reckoned with

name and shame- will happily boycott them myself on your behalf!

squeaver · 05/11/2009 19:25

Name them! Twunt

southeastastra · 05/11/2009 19:25

is it tony and guy?

Restrainedrabbit · 05/11/2009 19:27

I wouldn't like to confirm or deny Southeastra

I bet it's Tony and Guy. Arses.

squeaver · 05/11/2009 19:30

God T&G only do about 4 styles anyway. Wtf do they need an art director for?

cakeywakeywhizzbangmakey · 05/11/2009 19:31

I'd write a stinky email to head office and let them know that they've lost your custom. What a cheek!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 05/11/2009 19:33

He has an infintesinamally tiny penis and is trying to make up for it

TsarChasm · 05/11/2009 19:33

What an outrageous jumped up little twerp

Letter to head office immediately!

posieparker · 05/11/2009 19:33

Write to Toni and Guy and explain that you've been to their salon for years, but now realise you're not trendy enough so will be having a blue rinse up the road from now on.

Toni and Guy really fucked up my hair, after complaining about highlights they redid it after two weeks and highlighted the same tired pieces of hair...I thought it was going to fall out.

cathcat · 05/11/2009 19:34

yes definitely complain in writing to head office. Hope they send you lots of free stuff by way of compensation.

pointydogg · 05/11/2009 19:34

You should stand at the door and say the same to any customers who look fairly similar to yourself

Restrainedrabbit · 05/11/2009 19:35

Yup Dh reckons a sniffy letter to head office would do the trick, never know I might get a free head of highlights although after Posies experience maybe I'd be better of elsewhere

TsarChasm · 05/11/2009 19:36

Snort at 'Art Director' too. What a joke

bluebump · 05/11/2009 19:37

I had someone at T&G be really snobby about my hair once and say they weren't really sure if they wanted to do/could do what I wanted (basic highlights, so fine, off I trotted down to the next salon which actually was half the price and lovely. I've never ever been back there again to see if i'm worthy of them now

MerryWifeOfWindsor · 05/11/2009 19:39

Toni and Guy are crap. I went to the art director and had the worst haircut I have ever had, seriously. He chatted to the woman beside me too the whole time like I was too boring to talk to (as soon as he heard her say botox his face lit up and turned away from me), I paid FULL PRICE for my 2 year old and it was so so crap. Still all curled over his ears. Got it done next tome for £6 at a barber who was excellent. TONI AND GUY SUCK.

posieparker · 05/11/2009 19:39

I now go, or have the last two times, to the local college and see the fast track mature students who do a brilliant job for £15. A full head and cut..... times are fucking hard in my house. This time last year I would frequent an award winning independent for £135.....

Fabster · 05/11/2009 19:42

T and G are rubbish. I have had 2 hair cuts in 2 different branches and would rather my four year old cut my hair than go back there.

Restrainedrabbit · 05/11/2009 19:43

A friend of mine uses a fantastic mobile hairdresser (ex- posh salon type) and spends about 12pounds for a C&BD - might get her number. I plan to tell anyone who will stand still long enough to listen IN MY OPINION TONI AND GUY ARE DISCRIMINATING BASTARDS
