Can't stand Chris Moyles and his sycophantic 'team.' I like Scott Mills - he's funny. Heard Fearne Cotton today - she was quite okay ackshully. Best Radio show where I live is on XFM - Clint Boon's drivetime.

saggyjuju · 21/09/2009 21:20

cant be all bad he kicked katie price and david guest off the show for being late, saved a couple of shows there i think!

NotanOtter · 21/09/2009 21:24

why do they all have to have their little 'safety net' of sycophants?

Monkeygirl69 · 21/09/2009 21:26

Chris Moyles would love the fact that we hate him. Think it's better to pity the fool. I haven't listened to him in ages-does he still belch all the effing time.

pluto · 21/09/2009 21:26

Haven't listened to Moyles for a long time now because he is a twat and you are not unreasonable.

I can't stand the Jeremy Vine show. He's OK but I hate the sensationalism of the content and the people who phone in just come across as bigots.

Monkeygirl69 · 21/09/2009 21:26

?

Georgimama · 21/09/2009 21:26

I listened to Chris Moyles about twice and then thought "no thankyou." I love Wogan, just for the nostalgia factor, and his cronies are frankly the funniest thing about it (and he knows it and I don't think minds sharing the limelight at all) - Lynn Bowles and Bogie Marsh etc - v v funny.

I will miss him but I have every confidence that CE will be fab - I used to think him a total twat but he has been fab ever since he started drive time - talks to everyone in exactly the same way, with kindness and wit. I actually quite love him, even though he is a ginger. And Simon Mayo back - lovely. He did Radio 1 breakfast when I was a little thing and I loved him then too.

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:29

Simon Mayo was really funny on Radio 1. I'm looking forward to his arrival on R2. Maybe we will get the Golden Hour and the Confessions slot and Missionary Position again. Or maybe not.

I agree Moyles is a twat, but mainly because he is a twat. I'm not sure how misogynist he is because I haven't heard him for years. Thank goodness.

Has anyone heard Ball on Saturday mornings on R2 though? For gawd's sake STOP SHOUTING, woman! I thought she was supposed to have grown up and calmed down? Why is she still so shrill and screechy? I find myself counting the minutes until the soothing tones of Brian Matthew come on.

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:32

And Danny Baker is overrated. I hated him when he took over from DLT (that shows my age) on Sundays. (Actually that was only in the mid-90s.)

jooseyfruit · 21/09/2009 21:33

I love radio 6 ,esp Shaun Keavney, he was talking about BLWing his son once, I wonder if he or dw are MNers? If so hi

jooseyfruit · 21/09/2009 21:34

jeremy vine show is like listening to the daily mail

CybilLiberty · 21/09/2009 21:34

Danny Baker makes me snort my tea out on a regular basis. I wish he was still on in the mornings

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:36

Agree that Evans used to be of that Moyles ilk - surrounded by sycophants and not half as funny as he thought he was. I'm hoping he has grown up.

(He did an awful, AWFUL slot called "on the bog." I shudder still to think of it. His tenure on r1 was what drove us away, first to Russ and Jono on Virgin and then to Classic FM and R4...)

Grisette · 21/09/2009 21:37

I think Jo Whiley looks Fabulous. Jeremy Vine = Daily Mail on the radio. Loose Women = Daily Mail on the TV

uqd wack wack oops

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:40

Yes! Snooker on the radio!

Georgimama · 21/09/2009 21:41

He has lovely slots on drivetime now UQD - one where kids phone in and get a fanfare for something they have done for the first time ever that day (sounds mawkish, doesn't it, but it's rather sweet) - ladies in their cars (not in the least bit patronising, honest), Top Tenuous, where listeners text in with their tenuous connections to the nominated celebrity (things along the lines of "my ex boyfriend's first landlady's ex husband's dog was once hohuse sat by Uri Geller") and all request Friday which shows that en masse, the British public have great taste in sheesy music.

Actually all that sounds a bit shit written down, but it's very enjoyable when driving home from work.

NotanOtter · 21/09/2009 21:41

loved the clack of the balls when the question was correct

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:43

Have occasionally heard Evans on drivetime, and some of these things ring a bell, but we're usually cooking, doing Brownie run, etc., etc.

Yes, DLT had great sound-effects!

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:44

Does anyone agree with me about Ball?...

CybilLiberty · 21/09/2009 21:45

I still say quck quack oops if my kids guess something wrong

CybilLiberty · 21/09/2009 21:46

Yes UQD, I agree with you. Too hyperactive by half

UnquietDad · 21/09/2009 21:47

I still offer DW "3/4/5 Golden Hour Points" for getting the titles of songs right complete with brackets in the right place... "No brackets, no points."

God, I am sad.

CybilLiberty · 21/09/2009 21:49

Was that Simon Bates?

NotanOtter · 21/09/2009 21:52

puke no

his voice makes me ill

especially when he used to drop the tempo for 'our tune'
