Quite like listening to Steve Wright love songs on a Sunday morning.

'I can't liiiiiive, if liiiiving is with out yooooooouuuuuhooohoooo' etc

KERALA1 · 21/09/2009 19:27

Evans and Moyles both frequented my old pub when I lived in media land. Moyles was physically very very unappealing. Never listed to radio 1 (committed to radio 4 although do like jezza vine)

SgtAngua · 21/09/2009 19:27

6 Music for me too. I can't stand Moyles he is such a self satisfied bully.

dogonpoints · 21/09/2009 19:28

The whole love songs thing is so tired now. Makes me feel like a 40 year old grey thing.

hollyhobbie · 21/09/2009 19:28

YANBU. He's such a misogynist. Even my DH switches him off.

MovingOutOfBlighty · 21/09/2009 19:31

I think that is why I like it Dogonpoints, there is something strangely comforting pottering along with 10cc going on in the background and hearing about how Irene and Les are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Sorry, totally off topic.

Agree with love of Stuart Maconie. I wrote him an email saying this and he replied personally (I think)

MrRileysPies · 21/09/2009 19:32

Didn't realise anyone under about 23 actually listened to Radio 1. Agree with "YANBU, he's a twat for a myriad of reasons" And he's just not witty or funny ever.

BramblyHedge · 21/09/2009 19:32

Oops - teach me to read more carefully :-)

MrRileysPies · 21/09/2009 19:33

"Agree with love of Stuart Maconie. I wrote him an email saying this and he replied personally (I think)" That's the kind of thing I'd do.

MovingOutOfBlighty · 21/09/2009 19:34

He said he loved me too.

posieparker · 21/09/2009 19:35

Apparently he is a lovely man minus the radio persona. He's perfect for a radio one breakfast show and is as in depth as the redtop news for radio that interrupts his show every five minutes.

dogonpoints · 21/09/2009 19:36

crikey. Watch out, maconie

MrRileysPies · 21/09/2009 19:36

Agree with "Shaun W.Keaveny...is everything that Mr Moyles isn't and manages to be entertaining without raising my hackles." Nevere know where he is on Radio but he sits in for Dermot O'Leary (another who should not be on the radio) and he's lovely - very understated and funny.

dogonpoints · 21/09/2009 19:37

o lord, o'leary just mumbles. I can't understand a word he says

MrRileysPies · 21/09/2009 19:38

And he knows fuck all about music but pretends he does. Just says everything's brilliant.

Grisette · 21/09/2009 19:42

I love Steve Lamacq best. I've loved him every since the evening session in th e90s. He was lovely when he came to our UNi for a gig too.

I only ever switch over to Moyles when Sarah Kennedy's pomposity gets too much. After about 17 minutes of the 'team' wittering on I am ready to throw the radio through the window.

Arghhhh!

I like Five Live but need music so what to do ...

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 21/09/2009 19:47

Go digital - Six Music!

yama · 21/09/2009 19:49

Florence - I have digital and will try to find Six Music tomorrow morning.

Wish me luck - my digital radio is a bugger to use.

Thanks for the tip though.

SamMitchell · 21/09/2009 19:49

God, I hate Moyles, too. I find it deeply depressing that millions of people listen to him every morning. Sod Radio 2, though. I'm not old enough for that shit, yet, surely?

InMyLittleHead · 21/09/2009 19:52

I love the team - Rachel, Aled etc. are they still on there? I stopped listening because of Moyles, he just yammers on constantly and is obnoxious. Will only listen in the am when Scot Mills or other is doing it.

V. fond of Radio 4 and the way you turn it on and they might be talking about ANYTHING, e.g. foreign policy, beekeeping, the Penines.

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 21/09/2009 19:53

MrRileysPies, BBC 6 Music is where Shaun 'lives' in the morning but he is sometimes allowed out on to Radio 2.

I would love to go to the pub with Radcliffe & Maconi, Jezza Vine, Shaun W., Jo Whiley, Edith, Dermott (not all at the same time - too noisy) but if Chris M came along I would run away screaming before he made some comment about my fat arse.

Grisette · 21/09/2009 19:58

Radio 4 sends me to sleep. Its a shame, becuase I'm sure most of it would be really interesting if I could stay awake.

MrsSaxon · 21/09/2009 20:15

Radio 6 is great, its like radio 2 for cool people.

Have to say, think you are YABU about Chris, I love him!

Maybe he is a bit like marmite.

paisleyleaf · 21/09/2009 20:19

I've never listened to Chris Moyles, but I've found him unlikeable whenever I've caught him on TV.
He reminds me of that James Whale who I also couldn't like.
