How old were you when you lost your virginity?

I got the idea from NetMums of all places. I blame this thread and BigBellasBeerBelly.

I'll start. I was 16 1/2.

Ok..read through now.

Abused at 5/6yo.

Messed about at 10yo.

Had sex at 11yo with a 15yo.

Saw him for a few months, left that area at 13 and had sex again at 14, from then on quite regular.

At 16 was with a 36yo for a while.
At 17 with a 27yo for a while.
At 18 was with a 53yo for 5yrs, out of it now tf.

had some fun since then too

17, he was 19, had only been with him 4 weeks but we stayed together 3 1/2 years and it wasnt horrendous, wasnt great either, infact it was never great. he broke my heart.

I was fourteen and it was with a boy who told me that he would dump me if i didn't. So i did. And i cried all the way through, and begged him to stop, but he wouldn't.

I actually can't remember if I was 16 or 17. Which is funny because today for about 10 mins I couldn't remember how old I am now. (I've remembered now!

On a more serious note, it's sad to see how many women were interfered with as children and interesting to see how many of those count their first assault as their "first time" as with one of those bastards. Personally the thought of those times doesn't even enter my head when I think about sex now, or early experiences of it as a consenting young adult. I can't afford to let it, s'pose. The perpetrators of these crimes have taken enough, time to take back.

To follow up something Nancy said, I read in a book by Mary Stanley (called Revenge) that as sex is for women 90% feelings, heart and head, then "the first time" is the first time is the the first time you were mentally participating. If somebody was doing it to you and you were wishing yourself somewhere else, that's not a first time.

Margo&Nancy I wish I could separate the 2 but it was my first time, I know that there is a world of difference between the experience and my drunken fumble 8 years later but it was what it was.

I too find it disturbing the number of women who's first experiences in this area are frightening and out of their control.

I was 14 and it was with DH!! We are now 32! I remember it happened in his bedroom at his parents while his dad mowed the lawn and his mum was cooking dinner!

I am surprised how many people were well over 16 on this thread....I don't think that's average. I would have said 15 much more common.I wonder if it's just that those people who waited are proud about that and more likely to post on this thread?

I was 16...although my boyfriend and I tried and tried while I was still 15 and we couldn't do it!! That sounds rubbish, doesn't it? I think I'm wussy and wasn't prepared for the pain, and he was too nice to push me. Am glad to say we were both virgins and we did love each other and went out for ages.
