made a comment on a thread, and i have to say it wasnt worded the way i meant it, and oml it was chaos. When i first joined, i opened a thread, and most of the replies barr a few were quite unkind, hmmmmm is i the only one with this problem? or is it a mumsnet thing?

well quite - bring it on. If I'm labelled a bitch for objecting to this bigotry then so be it. Admit you were wrong (you have), move on but don't keep bleating on about it and trying to get sympathy.

mn hq must have thought it was bad as they deleted it and they never delete disablist comments normally.

I think it all comes from the housewives with lots of time between their hands and dont think (not all of them, some of them)

duchesse · 10/04/2009 09:42

Oh goodness, god forbid that HOUSEWIVES should have opinions and voice them! , know your place!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 10/04/2009 09:43

ERM wait a minute I saw that comment in the orginal thread and there was a lot more to the original post, context is everything. She was saying that SOME people (not her which she then clarified in more than one post) think that disabled children should be treated like animals and therefore they might choose to abort. She apologised and tried to explain herself more than once.

duchesse · 10/04/2009 09:43

Nuts- clearly too much time on my hands on this Good Friday: Women, know your place!

JUSTNEEDOPINIONS · 10/04/2009 09:44

The funny thing about that Rumsfeld classic is that I can actually see what he's driving at, and how much he's avoiding trying to say, and avoiding trying to incriminate his administration, but he just ends up sounding like a fule.

PheasantPlucker · 10/04/2009 10:01

OP your post, which you haven't quoted here (ooh that's a surprise [sarcastic emoticon}), was incredibly offensive, and I applaud those who took issue with it.

5intheEgg · 10/04/2009 10:01

I never commented on the post you are moaning about op, but I will say this...

The people who were "bitchy" to you all have disabled children, all have worries about how other people in the outside world react to their children. Is it any wonder they were "bitchy" to you?

Maybe try reading over your posts before posting it and having a bit of common decency about you might help.

PheasantPlucker · 10/04/2009 10:03

[applauds 5inthe egg too]

PheasantPlucker · 10/04/2009 10:05

PS And for the record I am not 'a housewife with too much time on my hands'

5intheEgg · 10/04/2009 10:08

and carries on with my housewife job type thing.

i didn't post on the original thread but read it, and to be fair to the OP, she did apologise for it being badly worded and that it wasn't exactly what she meant and tried to rectify upsetting people but that was ignored, and she got jumped on by the same poeple who were moaning that they always get jumped on......ironic no?

and for what my opinion is worth, I didn't read it as though she was saying disabled people are animals and to take that one sentence completely out of context with the rest of her post and the conversation at the time is a bit unfair.

but not good form to start a thread about a thread, but hey, lots of people have done it.

lou33 · 10/04/2009 10:31

ah i didnt realise this thread was about the comment further down

i would have had another reply had i realised

yappybluedog · 10/04/2009 10:37

I read the original thread and I agree with Daisy, it wasn't how I read it

She apologised countless times ( for unintended offence) but was pounced on

Welshbyrd, I don't think you are helping your cause by calling other MN's bitches though
