made a comment on a thread, and i have to say it wasnt worded the way i meant it, and oml it was chaos. When i first joined, i opened a thread, and most of the replies barr a few were quite unkind, hmmmmm is i the only one with this problem? or is it a mumsnet thing?

My god you are all drunk (jealous sober emoticon)

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/04/2009 00:28

I've only had two glasses of Hock. This doesn't class me as drunk dear.

themoon66 · 10/04/2009 00:28

welshy - if you really want to be flamed then start a 'DC banned from weddings' thread, or a toddler and parent parking thread.

Spero · 10/04/2009 00:30

don't you dare, I've been meaning to go to bed this past half hour

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/04/2009 00:34

Or a 'what's up with fruit shoot' thread, or a SAHM do nothing all day, this will get them going.

GypsyMoth · 10/04/2009 00:36

Surprised we've not had the usual 'bad form creating a thread about a thread!!'

welshbyrd · 10/04/2009 00:36

im weak laughing here, if i did that id deffo have to put me cricket gear back on

OPif you make offensive comment that upset people wht do you expect

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 10/04/2009 09:21

I think sometimes posters don't read all of the post properly and they also interpret it to mean what they want it to mean rather than what it actually means. If any of that makes sense.

Anyway, it would be boring if we were all nice to each other all the time.

Ronaldinhio · 10/04/2009 09:23

ffs a thread about a thread whining about "bitchy" mumsnetters disagreeing with you

don't let the door....

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 10/04/2009 09:28

welshbyrd - why not actually say what you wrote? it was not a comment that might have been offensive - it was this:

"I imagine how id feel, in a world full of people walking, eating, going out with friends doing normal things, while i could just about wlk with sticks, or in a wheelchair. Its quality of life, many vets would put a animal down if it could not walk, eat properly, due to the animals quality of life etc etc"

I would not describe those of us who responded to you as bitcy - how about, hurt, angry and disgusted.

Yes you apologised but let's not try and get sympathy now for what was the worst abberation I have ever seen on MN.

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 10/04/2009 09:29

I think if people saw tha posts(that the op has apologised for , so she must accept they were wrong) they would understand why people were so angry.
starting a thread calling us bitchy is well............bitchy
I will continue to find disablist posts offensive, even if that makes me a bitch.

duchesse · 10/04/2009 09:32

This is just how MN works. People have opinions and voice them. It's fab once you get used to nobody mincing words- a lot more authentic and intelligent than all those mindless sites with ticker tape, flashy stuff and insincere huns all over them.
