made a comment on a thread, and i have to say it wasnt worded the way i meant it, and oml it was chaos. When i first joined, i opened a thread, and most of the replies barr a few were quite unkind, hmmmmm is i the only one with this problem? or is it a mumsnet thing?

Opening a thread to talk about another thread is just poor.

If you have a problem deal with it on the thread

If you have been such a tit that you are unable to get your point across on that thread anymore then perhaps its time to learn from it, let it go and move on.

I know it's all about you but perhaps your poor choice of words really hurt people on the other thread and your apologies didn't mollify them.
Starting a thread whining about how you are being treated after you have caused hurt and upset again seems to be in very poor taste.

lou33 · 10/04/2009 12:11

oh i have been called a few things as well in the past, and probably int he future too!

welshbyrd, my point is that if you apologise then start a thread complaining about how your thread was taken, then the apology is likely to be seen as false and forced without meaning it

like i said i havent seen the thread, just told you apologised and it was ignored

but then to start a thread about a thread whereby you apparently upset many people , is only going to open a new can of worms

LackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2009 12:22

riven, implying that the OP said she wished your DD and other children like her dead is really rather disingenuous of you . She didn't say that at all.

having words put into one's mouth can make one rather tetchy as well.

welshbyrd · 10/04/2009 12:23

didnt mean new thread to open can of worms, tbh it wasnt just the bad wording comment i meant when i opened the thread. I had typed a thread a few weeks asking advice about my partner and me, to which i had quite alot of nasty replies to that too.So this thread wasnt aimed at the bad wording incident. Just the people who i had upset on that, had obviously seen this thread and assumed it was about that

that makes more sense

twinsetandpearls · 10/04/2009 12:27

welsh this is upsetting you and I get that as Mumsnet often upsets me and I get like a dog with a bone and cant let go. Take a break for a few days, go and enjoy the bank holiday. Draw a line under this and move on.

Honestly there have been times on here when I have thought everyone hates me on here and I can never post again but a couple of days later it has been OK.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:35

It's just like RL you have to take the good people with the bad people. I like to think there are more good people but then I am naive.

Also remember in the Easter holidays you may have a few school children knocking around and stirring things up, it gets even better in the summer.

Ronaldinhio · 10/04/2009 12:36

Oh sorry, I was confused!
I thought that last nights thread about a thread was referring to the absolute pasting you have taken on a thread from that day and not a contemplative thread about a thread from a few weeks ago

Thanks for clearing that up.

The thing is if you post on an internet site you'll get all sorts of answers, not all to your liking.
Especially if you post about benefit fraud, smoking whilst pregnant or with any form of disablist commentary no matter how apologetic you may end up.

Move on and stop drawing attention to inflamatory posts whilst looking for sympathy

Tis a nest of vipers dontcha know?

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:37

You forgot drugs and breastfeeding Ronald.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:38

...

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 10/04/2009 12:39

MN can be extremely bitchy

And people can be v. unreasonable

But it can also be v. wise and supportive and a scream, like the penguin thread

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 12:40

I cannot read Some of Welshbyrds posts. This isnot because I am a bitch or do not ave time but they are all squashed up.

I like paragraphs.

Or dots......................

I cannot reach crunched up posts.

Anyway, I am sure you all feel better for knowing that

kettlechip · 10/04/2009 12:59

Agree with FelineFine, had to decode some of it.
I think YABU by the way. And AIBU probably wrong place to seek sympathy either way.

welshbyrd · 10/04/2009 13:02

wasnt asking for sympathy, i asked a question, am i the only person who thinks mn is bitchy? and think i did state that i had probably posted this on the wrong thread topic, under AIBU.

OP posts:
2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 10/04/2009 13:05

well ynbu mn can be bitchy as you proved

kettlechip · 10/04/2009 13:08

Yep, MN is definitely bitchy then. But also wonderfully funny, addictive, supportive and often inspiring so I can live with the odd bit of bitchiness!

welshbyrd · 10/04/2009 13:09

2shoes where in "hmmmm its kicked off again , that context that has been copied and pasted on this thread has been by the poster done very cleverly. Its got a really bad part of what i typed, but not the whole post. This person has just posted one line of what i typed,a line that would enrage anyone, and i can assure all, that what i typed before and after that if read would not make it sound the way it has been copied and pasted in one line.
i neither implied any inderviduals as being bitchy? hmm unless someone is going to stragitically copy and paste something else ive typed, which again would look the way is wasnt meant.
As for my apologizies not being good enough, you know what i dont really care now. The majourity of the people who read original post read it in the way it was meant, however a few missed the point i was making and started kicking off, could these inderviduals not see like the others who read post, that it wasnt meant in theway some have taken it.
If others who have read the post, have commented, they didnt take the post in the bad way few inderviduals did. Then maybe these people need to lighten up and see like the other did, and not see it was meant as an offensive post.
P.s im done with apologizing, sorry but i feel ive explained, and others on my behalf[who also read post], but seems these inderviduals wont let up so / it. IT WAS NOT MEANT IKE THAT. And people reading the copied and pasted line put on this thread, please dont comment on half a sentace, when you never read the original post. Ever had someone walk in half way through a convosation and realised that the little bit they could have heard could have offended them?but infact had they heard the whole convo, they wouldnt have been. well thats what that copied and pasted line has been made to look. "
do i say "lighten up, with your un healthy children ffs"?because you posted "
pmsl so now you want us to lighten up, with our un healthy children ffs", i dont think i typed anything of the sort. Think this is another of you taking this out of context, and trying to put words in my mouth.

OP posts:
Ronaldinhio · 10/04/2009 13:12

errrrr

NeedCoffee · 10/04/2009 13:16

agree with lackadaisy and twinset. Jusy walk away from the thread, you're never going to win

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 10/04/2009 13:20

welsh you mad ethe comment about helthy children on the other thread, not here, but this is a thread about another thread.
please don't tell me to ligten up, it is rude after all.
If you had just left it on the other thread it would all be over now, people are used to offesive posts on mn and move on after the initial hurt and anger. this thread just makes a nother day of it imo.

Bleatblurt · 10/04/2009 13:21

Welshbyrd, do you think you could use paragraphs as I cannot read your posts. My eyes keep going funny, sorry.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 13:22

PARAGRAPHS ARE PARAMOUNT!

can't read the posts otherwise.

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 13:23

See its not just me.........

FelineFine · 10/04/2009 13:24

I caught a few word though, I got cut and pasted, child and ffs lighten 2shoes context

Dillydaydreamer · 10/04/2009 13:25

LOL if you have an opinion and are vocal about it you get slated I have been on many occasions and frankly really couldn't care less, because just like the slaters I am entitled to my beliefs and opinion. If they don't like it, lump it, is my motto
