To be shocked and disgusted at DH and his strange sexual requests?

DH has been suggesting we should be a bit more adventurous in bed lately.

I'm up for that, dont mind trying different positions or a bit of role play etc

last night we shared a bottle of chablis and were both a bit 'tipsy', he got a bit amorous and we headed off to the bedroom

Things were getting a bit passionate and he then tells me he has a suprise for me, he opened up the bedside table and pulled out a box, i opened it up and to my horror, pulled out a strap on rubber penis

I was too shocked to speak, just sat there amazed, he then started explaining that he wanted me to use it on HIM but first i would have to 'loosen him up' with my tongue he called it 'rimming' [disgusted]

Needless to say we had a big row, after i called him weird and freaky, he slept on the sofa, got up early and went to the office, i am expecting him back soon, but i think this is the beginning of the end, i need time to think, he is not the man i thought he was

I honestly did not know about cottaging and pegging,i've never heard of the terminology before and i am no troll or no innocent,just not totally corrupted.....yet!

OP, I'd be horrified too and react in much the same way - I don't think I'd make him sleep on the sofa, but I'd definitely sober up fast!

I think you should apologise, tell him you were shocked and just talk about it ... communication is the key - there may be a compromise you can both feel alright about

OP I would have to agree that your reaction was over the top. There is nothing wrong or sick with what your DH asked for. I agree about rimming and would never do it, but a dildo up a man's bum can be very pleasurable for him.

And there are ways of preparing him that do not include rimming, but will include you touching him. You can put a condom on over your fingers or even a regular latex glove (not marigolds, like what a doctor uses, you can get them at Boots).

And I am a little appalled at everyone's reaction. Not everyone has a lot of sexual experience. Its not nice to make fun of people because they don't know something you don't know. In fact, it could be considered bullying.

This thread is obviously either trolling in nature, or humorously-intended, or both. As most people have realised.

However, on a more serious note, I have noticed the differing attitudes to sexual interests which emerge on here.

If a woman posts about genuinely not having her needs met by her DH then she will receive all kinds of sensible advice: counselling, Relate, ways to compromise, etc. But if it's about her DH wanting something that she doesn't want, people generally either take the piss or - as we've seen on other threads - take an attitude along the lines of "Tell him to take a running jump" or "tell the daft sod to go and have a wank and forget the idea." As if his desires don't matter, but hers do.
