To be shocked and disgusted at DH and his strange sexual requests?

CindyCrawfordsLeftLeg · 29/03/2009 13:29

DH has been suggesting we should be a bit more adventurous in bed lately.

I'm up for that, dont mind trying different positions or a bit of role play etc

last night we shared a bottle of chablis and were both a bit 'tipsy', he got a bit amorous and we headed off to the bedroom

Things were getting a bit passionate and he then tells me he has a suprise for me, he opened up the bedside table and pulled out a box, i opened it up and to my horror, pulled out a strap on rubber penis

I was too shocked to speak, just sat there amazed, he then started explaining that he wanted me to use it on HIM but first i would have to 'loosen him up' with my tongue he called it 'rimming' [disgusted]

Needless to say we had a big row, after i called him weird and freaky, he slept on the sofa, got up early and went to the office, i am expecting him back soon, but i think this is the beginning of the end, i need time to think, he is not the man i thought he was

He's not disgusting, he just wants to try something new. There is nothing wrong with trying new things. Don't rule anything out without giving it some thought, but don't do anything you are not comfortable with. If you don't want to lick him then use some ky or something. If it really repulses you, then don't do it.

If you can't talk frankly about sex with someone, you shouldn't be doing it with them!

But, bottom line (pardon the pun) - mutual respect. Nobody should feel pressured into doing anything they don't want to do.

CelebrityMNer · 29/03/2009 13:40

What line of work is he in Cindy?

Blarbie · 29/03/2009 13:41

Had a boyfriend who was into odd things like that once. Opened my eyes a bit I can tell you, but he let me know about a month in and we continued going out for about 3 months. Tongue in bum though? Ik!
Remember it would've taken a lot of guts and trust for him to let you know what he wanted and he's gonna be a bit hurt now. Doesn't mean you have to do things you don't want to, but can you let him down a bit more gently? Talk about what he wants, what you want?
I had to sell a very dull domestic appliance at the Erotica exhibition in London once and that also opened my eyes to how freaky and weird perfectly normal people can be. Each to their own I say, but since the people being so freaky and weird were so normal, maybe it's not so freaky and weird?
I have a friend who had a bad patch in her 7 year relationship as he was asking for things she wasn't happy with - no idea what, she wouldn't say, but they worked through it in the end and she didn't do the things. I hope you can too.

I should have known not to come here for advice, 'cottaging'? you mean like house hunting? why would he be doing that?

HecatesTwopenceworth · 29/03/2009 13:41

not really, nametaken - doctors, nurses, call centre workers, shop workers... sunday is just another day for most people.

expatinscotland · 29/03/2009 13:41

Oh, I've had boyfriends who skipped the rubber cock and went straight for the real thing .

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 13:42

my DH works every weekend, as it happens.

Tidey · 29/03/2009 13:42

Cottaging = house hunting LOL

noddyholder · 29/03/2009 13:42

chablis does that

expatinscotland · 29/03/2009 13:43

And pegging = putting your washing up on the line.

independiente · 29/03/2009 13:43

Christ, my second ever, and both on the same day! I'm really pleased, like I finally belong (happy sigh).
Anyway, I don't find it 'strange', just unusual.

FAQinglovely · 29/03/2009 13:43

Hecates - you forgot the obvious ones - the Vicars

CindyCrawfordsLeftLeg · 29/03/2009 13:43

He runs a Haulage business, some of the long distance truckers are due back in the yard today, he has paper work to do, cant see why that is relevant though

Tidey · 29/03/2009 13:44

I'm probably really going to embarass myself here, but does pegging have a sexual meaning? I've never heard of that one.

expatinscotland · 29/03/2009 13:44

Is there a large sausage delivery due today? If so, watch out!

HolyGuacamole · 29/03/2009 13:45

ROFL

HeatherMillsLeftLeg · 29/03/2009 13:45

My husband asked me to shaft him too. I obliged, and I've never been richer happier.

noddyholder · 29/03/2009 13:46

HeatherMillsLeftLeg · 29/03/2009 13:46

Are the truckers hairy at all?

expatinscotland · 29/03/2009 13:47

PMSL, HeatherMills.

dizietsma · 29/03/2009 13:48

OP, if you are for real and not just trolling, I think YABU.

Your DH probably had to work up the courage to ask you to indulge his fantasy, and even if you're not into it, your disgusted and name-calling response was out of line.

You could have simply told him that you aren't into that sort of thing, thanks very much. Perhaps used it as a starting point to discuss what sort of fantasies you are into and see if there are any that are mutually stimulating.

Truly sexually satisfying relationships only happen with compassion, consideration and non-judgemental attitudes.

jooseyfruit · 29/03/2009 13:48

ooh, is he you a hairy handed trucker?

jeminthecity · 29/03/2009 13:49

Arf!

Never heard of rimming OP? My you are an innocent....(or more obviously a wind up)

CindyCrawfordsLeftLeg · 29/03/2009 13:50

I may be a little niave when it come to sex but there is really no need for you all to be so rude
