baby girl?

I have 2 lovely DS and would love a DD. I find it so hard as I keep being asked if I would like a girl etc as I am very girly, like it was something you can just buy in a shop!

I know its stupid but when I found out BF had a girl today I felt jealous.

betty my ds was an angel in the nativity

his hair was so long that i sat through the entire first half of the performance NOT recognising my own child
sounds far fetched but true! Ever since that performance people have told me what a beautiful angel he made! i digress!

although i have pined for more girls - i have learned that i have something much better...

little boys that i can enjoy just as much - i ask them if they want to do dance (i am sure ONE will!) i style their hair i just ENJOY them as people...

dont feel sad please dont - embrace what you have and you may surprise yourself

chipmonkey · 16/02/2009 22:28

Ria, where do you get your boys' clothes? There is feck-all BUT blue and khaki around here!

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:30

chipmonkey its a full time job!!

there is a good thread in my 'watched' will link to it!

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:31

clothes for boys

OlaMamas · 16/02/2009 22:34

I know you're right but I joke.... honestly it is a joke when constantly bombarded with swords, cars, guns (and I hasten to add not bought by me or my DH) made from drills and other such boy stuff... avoiding games of boxing, being a knight and wrestling, getting whooped at mario Kart..... that I ordered girls.... I would not swop my gorgeous boys for ANYTHING, but I soooo hate rough play always have and for love nor money I have no idea where they have learnt it? I try to embrace it and even my gorgeous DS1 age 3.5 says you like soft high fives and gentle play don't you mummy!

chipmonkey · 16/02/2009 22:37

Thanks, Ria! Have added that thread to my Watch list.

PeachyHasABrokenKeyboardSorry · 16/02/2009 22:40

poor ds4 with teething, bas not at all well either

BettySwollux · 16/02/2009 22:43

Thanks ria, I dont feel sad as such, I love my boys sooo much, just wonder what it would be like really, as I was utterly convonced ds2 was a girl.

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:43

i have 5 boys and our house is very calm and gentle

there is one beast but she is very sweet on the whole!

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 22:44

It actually upsets me when people have a preference. My first little boy was stillborn and since him I have had 3 more boys. I have never, ever felt disappointed that they weren't girls, just elated that they were healthy. So yes I'm afraid YABU imo.

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 22:45

And Ria, my house is much the same as yours. I don't have thugs, I have sweet and gorgeous, loving, fabulous boys.

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:46

of love!

Squirdle i am so sorry about ds1 x

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 22:51

Thank you Ria. Even though he isn't with me, he is still very much my son and as special as the other 3.

And yes, we have soooo much love from our boys...something I have heard doesn't happen quite so much from mums of girls.

DS3 loves me this much and DS2 loves me past the Death Star and back again

DS1 is 15, so he just loves me

chipmonkey · 16/02/2009 22:51

Squirdle That does put it all in perspective, doesn't it?

OlaMamas · 16/02/2009 22:52

Not sure anyone mentioned thugs... just boys enjoying boyish play!

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 22:54

Ok, sorry, I wasn't reading properly, just scanning

PeachyHasABrokenKeyboardSorry · 16/02/2009 22:55

squirdle [hugs]

fwiw i dont think any of us would swap our ds's forall the money on earth,it's just a yearning for what never was- a girl: dh feels is too old for more children now, so my pinkness is unrequited LOL

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:55

Squirdle squeeze those little boys and shout 'my boys'

Big boys are fab too my 16 year old has been dreamy throughout!

i really embrace my little people in a way i never thought i could ( i wanted girls)

i love what i have been given so so much and feel in a very 'buddhist' sort of way that this was what i was meant to have

dont buy the 'too pretty to be a boy' bit either

my boys are BEAUTIES

expatinscotland · 16/02/2009 22:55

I have two lovely DDs and had a lovely DS this past November.

All three are cherished and loved equally, but it is pretty cool having a wee lad now, too.

PeachyHasABrokenKeyboardSorry · 16/02/2009 22:57

yes mineare beautiful- all curly hair and big eyes

if i could access my old Peachy name idshow you but my reg bit is not working

RiaParkinson · 16/02/2009 22:57

peachy i remember yours

i dont forget lovely boys!

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 22:58

I think it just hits a nerve with me as I am constantly being asked when I am going to try for a girl. Firstly, I would never try for a girl...it would be a baby/addition to our family and seciondly, I don't want any more children...thankyou very much

TiggyR · 16/02/2009 22:59

OlaMamas - your boys didn't learn their rough play from anywhere - it's called testosterone! Trying to suppress it doesn't work. I know, I've tried. Rejoice in the testosterone!

Squirdle · 16/02/2009 23:00

Yes peachy, yours are gorgeous. I think mine are beautiful too...esp DS2. He had very blonde, very curly hair until he was 4 and could have passed easily for a girl...as a lot of people mistakenly thought he was!
