To think that people shouldn't use the *F* word on Mumsnet

No doubt a bunch of smart alecs are going to tell me to F* off but ...

Why do some MNetters feel the need to use obscene language on here? Are they too inarticulate to express themselves without foul language? I started a thread on another topic, moving along nicely then a prolific poster told us to "all f* off". Why do that on a forum that is set up primarily to be friendly and supportive?

Just leave the foul language off MumsNet.

It is sometimes the most effective word and at times the most crass.....used well I love it!!!

I think the problem lies in the mumsnet style of parenting. Some people are forced to wean off the fuck and on to some pureed words and some of us have been left to self-wean.

I love the word vagina. I heart fangina even more though. Fuck is just a word that wee boys invented to shock each other. It (IMHO) deserves no more gravitas than bollocks. Which (IMHO) do deserve gravitas. Serious balls

my absolute favourite word is bugger. its fab and so versatile! you can say it in a frock, jeans and a jumper, work clothes...
