To think that people shouldn't use the *F* word on Mumsnet

No doubt a bunch of smart alecs are going to tell me to F* off but ...

Why do some MNetters feel the need to use obscene language on here? Are they too inarticulate to express themselves without foul language? I started a thread on another topic, moving along nicely then a prolific poster told us to "all f* off". Why do that on a forum that is set up primarily to be friendly and supportive?

Just leave the foul language off MumsNet.

Ha ha at my name shame you always call me Pingpong in any post you have written to me lol I just thought you was taking the fucking piss

I love a good swear. In fact, I think I still hold my school record for the number of audible uses of "fuck" during double French (44 BTW)

I also love a good thread which encompasses "fuck" "cunt" and Trudgill quotes. Only on MN.

And far from being inarticulate, I've just learn the new word "windfucker" and witchy, obscenity-laced laughter.

mrsgboring · 29/10/2008 14:41

Bugger, that last sentence is full of typos. Arse it.

Cheesesarnie · 29/10/2008 14:57

colacubes · 29/10/2008 15:34

It is a form of expression, and given we are only able to express ourselves through language on mn, given that is a internet forum, it is considerably better placed here in the virtual world than in the real world.

Cheesesarnie · 29/10/2008 15:38

not so cola.we can dance

colacubes · 29/10/2008 15:42

TheInvisibleSpookDidIt · 29/10/2008 16:14

Has Mulanmum been back or have she been scared off?

SummatAnNowt · 29/10/2008 16:16

Is it about the celebrating the one child family thing then?

Never knew my family set-up may need some special attention until that place was created! Large families I understand, holidays, cars, bedroom arrangements etc. But one child is a piece of piss!

SummatAnNowt · 29/10/2008 16:16

a fucking piece of piss!

OP here, been out shopping. Just been skim reading your replies. Pretty predictable really. And pathetic. Not been offended (sorry!) just rolled my eyes. No doubt this will cue more abuse but it's water off a duck's back. I still think this forum is mainly friendly and supportive - including the one-child family topic - but any forum has some sad cases as some of you have proved. Carry on
