to think that Kerry Katona sounded either drunk/drugged or as though she'd had a stroke on tv this morning

........ was anyone else watching this?

I was amazed when Phillip Scofield asked her if there was somethng wrong with her as she was slurring her words. I was imagining what his producer was screeching down his ear piece and feeling sorry for him being put on the spot like that. And actually felt sorry for KK too - a bit.

It was riviting tv.....

Adictions are very sad....I find it hard not to feel sorry for someone with an addiction, and their families.

MylilChoochyFace · 22/10/2008 15:17

I find it strange that he felt the need to ask her this, it was obviously upsetting for her yet he just carried on . . . do they not structure their interviews? I'm pretty sure he had other things to be asking her!
When she explained that she had taken her meds late last night, he did kind of carry on insisting that there might be a problem with her, I just wanted the poor woman to walk off!

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 15:34

i dont have any feelings for her at all

but i do think mental health problems are hard to manage and survive

bundle · 22/10/2008 15:34

If I'd been the producer of the programme I wouldn't have put her on air, you have a duty of care and she obviously wasn't in control of her actions.

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 15:35

but it makes their ratings go up

needahand · 22/10/2008 15:38

was I the only one to think that perhaps she had been beaten or something and that her jaw had been dislocated or something?

FlirtyThirty · 22/10/2008 15:43

I have worked with her once.
She is a total nightmare.

bundle · 22/10/2008 15:47

I know zippi but as a producer I'm presented with similar ethical questions - and have binned interviews on careful reflection

matildax · 22/10/2008 15:58

people on medication may slur their words, but she was not just slurring, her whole interview was laughable.
and to the poster who said, they feel sorry for her because of her 'very public' childhood and that people will sell stories about her..........
to that i say, whilst an unpleasant childhood, is awful for any child and can effect the rest of thier lives, does that however give her an excuse always for any bad behaviour???
also as for selling stories, well that goes hand in hand with her 'celeb' lifestyle.
i think she is a fool, and should concentrate on her mental health problems instead of whether she can fit into a size 10 top or not.
quite frankly i reckon she was still pissed/off her head from the night before...

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 15:58

well i am of the suspicion that she has had alcohol in the hospitality suite and it has not helped in combo with probably no breaqkfast and medication

and so she may have deteriorated quite quickly

but they could have cut it short they must have material to put in

of course if they actually want to avoid this then they can use pre recorded interviewing

but that wouldnt bump ratings

as without the hooha she doesnt really have anything of interest to say

lauraloola · 22/10/2008 16:03

It made me sad to watch it. She was so confused. What was she actually doing on there?? I feel for her children and do hope that Social Services get involved to make sure they have the care and love they need. By the sounds of it her eldest daughter does the house work and changes nappies. Very sad x

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 16:05

crikey i dont think she actually said her daughter does ther housework and changes nappies instead of her

lou031205 · 22/10/2008 16:10

There is something wrong with the underlying tone of this thread from some posters, tbh. So people are saying that Kerry Katona can have a career based around the media spotlight, until she has a condition that needs medication, then it is wrong to continue that career.

There is actually no harm to anyone but herself if she speaks oddly, etc. and even behaves erratically on TV. Obviously, there will be concerns for her and her children, but it is unfair to say that her source of income should be cut because she seems a bit odd.

She was in a sorry state, but at least Phil gave her the opportunity to speak up rather than just allowing the fall out to happen after.

southeastastra · 22/10/2008 16:12

i watched the clip, but can't bring myself to care about her one way or the other. though she did remind me a bit of ozzy osbourne

bundle · 22/10/2008 16:12

it does happen though zippi, a lovely girl i once worked with virtually brought up her little sister, from when she was about 8, as her alcoholic mother was incapable

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 16:14

my only knowledge of her and jad goody etc is from mn links

we have a celebrity so called culture and this is the result of it really people with not much to say and with lives that people love rubber necking and tutting about equally

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 16:16

yes there are young people who end up casring in a way that they really shouldnt have to

filz · 22/10/2008 16:16

I have had alcohol problems aswell and I thought she was drunk. i NOTICED when she was questioned she tried to adjust her voice to sound not drunk and this is really common aswell

I feel sorry for her and the kids. She s a young woman who could change but she seems surrounded by people who dont really care for or about her

ScottishMummy · 22/10/2008 16:17

my heart breaks to see a woman so acutely unwell and in crisis.she is having some kind of deterioration

i reallyt hope someone can offer her appropriate treatment and interventions, for her and her girls

filz · 22/10/2008 16:17

she didnt say her daughter did the housework eitgher. She said she was independant and would fetch her nappies. Its what most people say with a similar age gap

bundle · 22/10/2008 16:20

exactly zippi, there's a whole new category for them, slebtwaddle

Weeteeny · 22/10/2008 16:29

Not keen on her, but I do feel for her after this. Her no mark husband was in the studio and let her go on air. He must have known what the reaction would be regardless of what she is on, prescribed or not. if you have seen their fly in the wall show he demonstrates that he doesn't have her interests at heart. Only interested in when he is getting his next flashy car.
The sad thing is this is the guy she will be looking for support from after this, and he is the one that let her do it. He is a total knob.
Her poor children too. History repeating itself I fear.

Boobalina · 22/10/2008 16:30

I dont see why her ex-husband isnt fighting tooth and nail to get custody of their kids? Mental health issues or not, her general behaviour is appalling and unneccesary. I have a good friend who is bipolar with 2 children and even at her worst, she never behaved like this and is a dedicated parent. Not some big titted glory girl writing shit in OK magazine.

ladytophamhatt · 22/10/2008 16:31

God, that was difficukt to watch.

I feel torn betwen feeling sorry for her and being horrified by her..

What a shitty life she must have....

pingping · 22/10/2008 16:35

This morning do have a duty of care and surely the producers would of seen that she was in no fit state to do an interview hmmm Maybe the Heather Gmtv interview promted them to continue with there saga as look how much media attention that got.
