I was amazed when Phillip Scofield asked her if there was somethng wrong with her as she was slurring her words. I was imagining what his producer was screeching down his ear piece and feeling sorry for him being put on the spot like that. And actually felt sorry for KK too - a bit.

It was riviting tv.....

ive been on lithium its not that nice but she didnt actually say she was taking it

she only mentioned codeine or something that sounded like that which if she took a high dose and combined with a relatively small amount of alcohol like you might get in the green room could easily make you slur disproportionately

I really dont see Kerry Katona, no matter what her problems are, as something worth getting into a ruck about.

All I did was speculate she was on something and that it was meds or booze or both.

But what-fecking-ever.

She's got issues.

Ummm last time i checked KK put herself in the media limelight no one else and TBH KK is most likely lapping up the limelight from her performance this morning I bet you any money she will once again sell her story on her hell at this morning show

I can't see how she helps herself at all so I just cant sympthise with the woman.

Was at work this morning so didn't see it & have just watched the vid of it, & had to turn it off. Couldn't watch it, it was horrible.

In defence of KK (gosh I never thought I would type those words) she said she was on chlorpromazine - this is an old-fashioned antipsychotic also used for bipolar which can give you symptoms of jaw movement and slurred speech as side effects.

That said she could just have been off her tits.

I have a bit of knowledge about chlorpromazine and I have to say it can definately cause slurring of speech. However this I believe is alot worse than people I have seen on bigger doses and it seems its more likely that the effect of chlorpromazine combined with somthing else is causing her to act in this way. I thought her answers were random and lacked any kind of cohesion. I feel very, very sad for her.

Oh come on you lot - if the side effects were that severe to distort her ability to communicate then her medical team would have altered her meds. She was off her nuts plain and simple!

if she is needing to be on any of these heavyweight medivcations then tbh she has my sympathy it isnt pleasant

and bipolar is a dificult thing to be balanced on

and as i mentioned before, she is slurring in the same way on the clip from her tv show. no reason for her to be doped up pre-operatively like that i'd have thought, she'd be getting an anaesthetist later.

Actually thinking about it, chlorpromazine is often prescribed with procyclidine to combat the side effects. One resident we knew had been drinking after home visit because his speech was very much like that.

I am BiPolar and i often Slur and gurn , also Lithium can cause slirring my nan has taken it all her life i know the side effects.

doesnt take much to unbalance you

drinking too little water drinking lots of coffee and drinking alcohol will all throw out the mediaction

as will eating too much or too little

its useless trying to summise i guess only she knows what she has or hasn't been doing, i just feel very sad that she was even allowed to go onto television in that state, she wasn't even aware of how she was behaving.

I never thought i would say this but Leave KK alone she has a medical problem that shes sorting why judge her?

She keeps putting herself out there to be judged though, for her own sake she needs some time out of the spotlight. her menatl health will no doubt be affected by the fall out from this.

I have to agree with you Zippi I know how I get when I drink to much coffee or have too many glasses of wine whilst I take my meds but to be honest I have never slurred or had a funny jaw but meds effect different people I suppose

Bi-polar does do that it makes you hyper etc but when the shit hits the pan the media limelight is somewhere she shouldnt be and the people around her the Dr's therpyists her husband should then deal with this and not allow her to make a fool of herself on a daily basis its not like she is new to this game she knows whats happens everyweek I see at least one story on her. The people around then shouldnt let her sell herself out the way she does and TBH she should take note of the media reaction just because she is Bi-polar does not mean she is simple I know what I am doing and when at work if I get to hyper etc the people around me tell me.

I thought she said chlorpromazine aswell which is a fairly old fashioned anti-psychotic with a really unpleasant list of side effects, including stiffness and restlessness. Stiffness of the jaw can definitely cause slurring and as someone said for that reason procyclidine is normally prescribed aswell to counteract possible side effects.

Its possible she is self medicating and using more than prescibed dose I guess. Thats not uncommon.

So what your saying is she has Bi-polar and she acts like a twat on TV on her own show on MTV regardless of This morning. So we should feel sorry for her? Because she was made bankrupt (for spending a large percentage of her money on Cocaine)

I am sorry if you put yourself out there then you have to take the good with the bad and I can't feel sorry for someone like that.
