to think that Kerry Katona sounded either drunk/drugged or as though she'd had a stroke on tv this morning

........ was anyone else watching this?

I was amazed when Phillip Scofield asked her if there was somethng wrong with her as she was slurring her words. I was imagining what his producer was screeching down his ear piece and feeling sorry for him being put on the spot like that. And actually felt sorry for KK too - a bit.

It was riviting tv.....

Actually, she also sounds slurry on the new Iceland ads with Colleen!

not read this whole thread, but to me, the whole thing seems very very sad. I have some experience of bi polar as my mum had it, and it is a very hard illness to understand. She had a shitty childhood and is obv very unstable. People have had a go at her because she has 'courted' the media. I just wondered whether she does all this media stuff as a way of trying to get people to like her, to love her, in a way that she doesn't love herself and didn't get from others in the past and may desperately need now. it is totally the wrong way to get it, clearly, but maybe its the only way she thinks she can do it. All this surgery etc just seems to be about a desperate need to be loved by other people to. Of course, her instability makes her a prime target for trashy media coverage and sensationalist headlines, which is very sad.

I have to say, I didn't like the interview and felt that she was being slightly exploited for the programmers gain. If they were really worried about her wellbeing, why bring it up in fromt of millions on live tv, knowing full well the consequences of that? Why not wait till after the interview, when the cameras are off? Doing it in the way it was done has only served to add to the controversy around her.

There is another thread about this too this morning. I think the whole thing was a fake, she was smirking most of the time and it was like she was acting. Publicity stunt if you ask me.

the Iceland adverts make me cringe.

I thought the way that Phil was saying she had changed was a bit strange. What has happened? As far as I recall, she's been a bit like that on every interview she's done for ages now.

My dentist actually knows her, and usually can't wait to tell you about it. She was pictured in OK! with her last week. I often wonder whether a 'genuine' friend would be so prepared to divulge details about her personal life. It's very sad. The husband came across quite well (IMO) on the MTV show, she, on the other hand, did not.

I think it's all very sad. And I Bryan McFadden should stop swanning around with Delta bloody Goodrem and spend more time making sure his kids are OK.

She did an interview with Heat magazine ages ago, and that vile man she is with now was incredibly rude. She was unable to answer a question without him sticking his beak in.

I don't really care what she's on, I feel so sorry for her. At the time Brian wanted custody of the kids because of all the drugs stuff, which I can understand. That guy she is with now is bad news.

i'd say max clifford is laughing all the way to the bank.the perfect teaser/advertisement for her up coming car crash tv series ensuring that what should have been a fairly low key morning tv interview has now become front page news. coupled with a quick stint in rehab and an exclusive when she completes it about how "kerry katona beat her demons" followed by yet another car crash tv series "living with kerry/kerry runs for president/whatever they think will work". and endless heat/hello interviews.

upnorth · 23/10/2008 17:45

wasn't she voted mum of the year once or was that Jordan??

clam · 23/10/2008 18:20

Mum of the Year???!!!!

Mumi · 23/10/2008 19:07

Didn't see it live but watched it on YouTube.

I can believe it was the medication as I've been on ADs in the past which have made me sound exactly the same. It caused a lot of embarassment as my family refused to believe I was not either drunk or stoned. It also caused a lot of hurt as they were casting aspersions on my ability as a mother because of their assumptions, whereas I was actually on the medication to try and make things better for my family

Although her words were slurred and at times she seemed confused, what she was actually saying was too sharp for a drunk. Either way I think it was inappropriate for Fern and Phil to bang on about it yesterday, not to mention if they were dragging it out again today as well with Dr. Hilary. He may have tried to claim he was talking hypothetically but it's pretty obvious he wasn't.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 24/10/2008 20:34

I watched this and was gobsmacked that her husband let her go on like that. Also the film with her baps hanging out was a bit much and obviously the slurring and all that, plus the fact that Fern just acted like nothing was wrong!?

Then it dawned on me...new show on Sunday, and as Max Clifford always says, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

It made me really want to watch the show on Sunday - hey presto! Mission accomplished!
