Should we start a support group, do you think, for 'people who feel more in control of their own destiny if they can make a car go back and forth'?

Chairs in a circle; tea and biscuits; standing up to 'share' the seedy kick I get from taking kids anywhere over two miles.

I think that Spa Angst has a not-for-profit community outbuilding we could hire.

Threadie - that's a marvellous idea. I'd like to put my tastelessness under the full glare of the headlights; to change gear and then motor through life with the roof down.

Threadworrm · 02/10/2008 09:51

Yes. I'd like to slam on the brakes of my flawed lifestyle, put my compulsions into reverse, and turn the ignition key of extended metaphor.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 09:52

And to explain to rest of the group that I feel like I'm at a crossroads but feel totally satnavless.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 09:54

Threadworm - Yes, I received both. Sorry have been really busy. Look in your inbox in about 3 mins.

Threadworrm · 02/10/2008 09:57

Arrgh no don't feel you need to reply.I was just worried that you had sent something and I hadn't acknowledged.

morningpaper · 02/10/2008 10:04

Am late to this but I feel I should point out that my DH spent 9 years as an ambulance driver

woof woof

And YANBU - men should master impressive tools, be able to rattle off a few facts about Brunel, and be masterful when reversing and driving us back to their caves, etc

Cappuccino · 02/10/2008 10:12

oh dear here is mp barking

this is where mastery gets you

Swedes · 02/10/2008 10:13

I want to learn how to learn how to take a back seat.

onebatmother · 02/10/2008 11:02

I want to ride on the roof-rack of life.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 11:08

There is no more sombre enemy of good driving than a Britax Club Class on the rear seat.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 11:12

Onebat - I'm sorry to hear your DP has sump - that must be terribly disappointing and difficult.

ThelmaAndLouise · 02/10/2008 11:13

Honeypie, dump the sump. Come and join us for the ride of your life.

Cappuccino · 02/10/2008 11:19
Swedes · 02/10/2008 11:20

I wish I'd said the ignition key of extended metaphor.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 11:21
ThelmaAndLouise · 02/10/2008 11:25

Swedes, to say 'ignition key of extended metaphor',try using the dual controls of plagiarism.

NomDePlume · 02/10/2008 11:27

yep, I agree with OP.

Swedes · 02/10/2008 11:28

Thelma

onebatmother · 02/10/2008 11:30

Sump is goood.

Swedes, your frantic back-pedalling is unnecessary - throw vehicle into reverse, or handbrake turn with skidding noises will do the trick.

boiled sweet?

Cappuccino · 02/10/2008 11:31

at least I got my rosy cheeks doing something healthy
