LOL Swedes!!

Man heaven = masterful, clever, able to spell and punctuate, funny, good with a gear-stick, able to use a drill, has a blind spot for Boden order confirmations on the PC screen, not impatient with small children (my DH ticks all the boxes but the last one )

Man hell = facial hair of any description, poor speller, humourless, Guardian-reader, penny-pinching, non-driver, caravan owner.

georgimama · 01/10/2008 16:06

Have you met them mumblechum? I am very excited by the sound of Pan, although it takes a certainly manly panache to wear socks and sandals with a beard.

Swedes · 01/10/2008 16:08

Man Heaven & Man Hell thread here

Dot - LOL - please cut and paste and put it on the thread.

Cappuccino · 01/10/2008 16:11

I have only just found this thread how did that happen

I got as far as "Arm over the headrest looking masterful indeed. What a vacuous load of stereotypical giggly car-worshipping SHIT"

and now I think I am in love with UnQuietDad

dh couldn't drive when I met him and I just found it inconvenient rather than a turn-off. I had an ex who could drive, very well, with the arm-over-the-headrest special feature, but was too much of a wuss to ask his mother to borrow her car.

dh was much more attractive in comparison, with or without his provisional licence

NotCod · 01/10/2008 16:13

ROLL

ON

FLOOW

AT PROVIOSNAL LICENCE

THAT IS LIEK A CHASTITY BELT

oh feck off

he learned to drive soon enough

I get irritated with him driving now because he always needs the car when I want it

I find the thought of him on a train far more attractive; opening his bag and getting clever things out to read

rather than imagining him driving round teh countryside with a back seat full of pink baby suitcases

Cappuccino · 01/10/2008 16:16

men on trains v sexy

unless they buy lager from the buffet car

NotCod · 01/10/2008 16:16

no stadning up all the way rubbign against a lithe student

arf

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 01/10/2008 16:17

don't lithe students always sit down on the floor by the toilets using their grubby rucksacks as a cushion?

FabioAsGoodAsItGets · 01/10/2008 16:19

I have read a teeny bit of this thread.

But YANBU.

I am a cat and I can ride a motorbike ffs.

MEN
Stop wanking and phone BSM.

chenin · 01/10/2008 16:48

I would find a man that can't drive so unsexy... I can't help it.. sorry!

TBH I do not know one grown man that can't... not one.

The arm over headrest reversing thing... oh yes! And as for a man's forearm whilst changing gear... yes yes yes mmmmm!

I even like men overtaking me in nice cars on the motorway... sooo masterful! I think I need help.....

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 01/10/2008 16:50

mumblechum - also how I picture UQD tho' with the addtion of a yorkshire accent and a big chip on his shoulder

Pan · 01/10/2008 17:46

Ciao, bella...

tis a parenting website, cod, you arse.

ByTheSea · 01/10/2008 17:51

Well, my DH refuses to drive and sometimes sports some facial hair, but he is the furthest thing from being a humourless, poor-speller, caravan owner you could imagine. It is inconvenient that he doesn't drive, but he happily walks back and forth to the station to commute by train, where he can be found reading the Guardian.

ByTheSea · 01/10/2008 17:52

He doesn't pinch pennies either and is fantastic with small children (if a bit impatient with bigger ones).

NotCod · 01/10/2008 17:53

why

I've noticed that people who are good at languages are either
non drivers or shite drivers.

Trollio · 01/10/2008 19:05

I am shit at languages.
I am a brill driver.

THerefore Swedes you are quite right.

Threadworrm · 01/10/2008 19:05

Have you really noticed such a thingswedes, or do you tease?

onebatmother · 01/10/2008 19:08

Swedes Never Teases

Cappuccino · 01/10/2008 19:14

come over here we are talking SENSE

I find my dh sexy

he is not sexy because he drives

he is just sexy

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 01/10/2008 19:18

Dh is vastly unpractical but v. clever. He can drive though and due to his calmness and control of the car, when we were in a high speed accident on the motorway, managed to avoid a horrific accident and got us to safety. Must say found that very masterful/swoonsome.

Wade · 01/10/2008 19:50

I once went out with someone who couldn't drive. Perhaps its the same guy.... Yes, lazy and inconsiderate.

Pan · 01/10/2008 19:55

perhaps he was lazy and inconsiderate despite not being able to drive....

sooo..all drivers are energetic and display the height of consideration???? yes, I recognise that.
