...rather than paying £400 for popcorn and cokes at the counter. Everyone smuggles right?

There is a big sign I noticed last time I went stating a zero tolerance for taking stuff in that you didn't buy there. I think they have a damn cheek and if their prices were at least reasonable not £3.40 for a popcorn I would buy it there.

No one's looking in my massive handbag without a fight but they seriously aren't going to ask me are they?

I am taking DS and his mates for this birthday treat, don't REALLY want to have to scuffle with the girl on the door!!!

Some weirdness on the threads tonight

BanjoKnockers · 22/06/2022 23:59

It's possible that you give them permission to search your bag in the terms & conditions which you accept when you buy a ticket ...

Isausernameavailable · 23/06/2022 00:04

If you need to hide or lie yabu. If your children need to hide or lie yabvu. Don't go if you will be dishonest

This thread is from 2008! popcorn is probably double the price now- it was the going to Woolies comment that made me check the date too Grin

ShaunaTheSheep · 23/06/2022 00:07

ZOMBIE THREAD!!

LazyDoll · 23/06/2022 00:15

Seriously? I take a back pack with 5 chilly bottles. 3 x £1 bags of sweets for the kids. Takeaway cartons x 3 filled with popcorn and a flask of hot chocolate from home for myself. 5 of us and costs a fortune to buy tickets. Would never buy food there.

PurpleButterflyWings · 23/06/2022 00:16

DEFO! Do it. I always do!

LazyDoll · 23/06/2022 00:16

According to internet it's a ban on hot food and alcohol.

@hellomynameisshark how did you even FIND this thread that was posted 14 years ago, and last updated 10 years ago? Confused And why did you uproot it?

Henerlo · 23/06/2022 00:29

Omg the cinema cops have finally caught up with OP just 14 years later and are digging up old threads to use in evidence against her.

Wafflesnsniffles · 23/06/2022 00:31

Arghhhhhh ancient zombie thread!

Henerlo · 23/06/2022 00:33

Her fellow accomplices are powerless to act, encumbered as they are by neck braces bursting with popcorn, nachos and dessicated Woolworths pick and mix. Stay strong op. They sell maltesers in Odeon. You could have bought them there. Who's to know? Admit nothing.

AlwaysLatte · 23/06/2022 00:45

We always take drinks but buy popcorn.

BelperLawnmower · 23/06/2022 00:48

Popcorn massively overrated in my view, there's nothing to it. I tend to smuggle in a box of Milk Tray.

Take stuff in with you. But please not sweets with individual wrappers... or crisps.

AuntTwacky · 23/06/2022 01:01

2008! Where did this come from

HibiscusIsland · 23/06/2022 01:11

I'd love to go back to 2008

Nat6999 · 23/06/2022 01:45

I took my mum to the cinema, we sat down to Watch the film & she went in her handbag & pulled out a bag of sausage rolls & offered me one. Ds & I always went to the pound shop near the cinema & bought sweets & drinks to take in with us. You nearly need a mortgage to buy food in the cinema, it was £5 for a bag of maltesers I could buy in the supermarket for £3.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 23/06/2022 02:09

I always take my own stuff in. Thermos of coffee, sweets, sandwiches. They can sod off with their prices. Haven't been caught yet.

HerRoyalNotness · 23/06/2022 02:32

I still remember fondly the night my friends husband made us lychee martinis decanted into water bottles for our girls weekly movie night. The good old days

ToysRMine · 23/06/2022 02:36

I see that this is an old thread but I’ll add my two cents lol. I spent four years working at a cinema (two separate big names, I quit the first after a year and moved to the second for three years) and we didn’t actually give a shit about this. Obviously we told people no food because that’s where they make the majority of the money but as long as it’s not hot food which is usually smelly then we always ignored it. This was in a large city also.
