Shocked that no one helped the girl on the train

14 year old SA in trained

I am being unreasonable in think people need to stop being so absorbed on their phones whilst out in public. It seems no one helpped this child whilst she was being raped because they were too busy on their phones.

Autistic girl, 14, 'sexually assaulted on train by Afghan migrants'

Baryalai Rahimi, 25, and Mirebadurahman Sadat, 29, are said to have spotted the runaway teenager at a station in rural Kent before following her onto the London-bound train on February 5.

Your comparison is hardly fair.

Why are the locals 'boys'?

I've been harassed by a group of 'local boys' when I was younger, it doesn't make it any more palatable.

We all know "local" doesnt really mean LOCAL anymore

A lot of people just stare into space, or at their phones or books, and are unwilling to get involved, even if it means someone else gets harmed.

Last week on the train, a woman had to ask a group of four women to give up their seats for a heavily pregnant woman. The women had seen her and chosen not to get up. I’m sure someone will point out that the four of them might have had invisible disabilities, or raise some other familiar objection

I just wondered if you were blaming phones in particular.

If I witnessed something dodgy I would intervene - just imagine if it was your kid! We need a bit more standing up and being counted!

So why comment.

Are you mixing me up with another poster

That's only because there are less of them! The data is clear. Foreign nationals are significantly more likely to be sex offenders than British born males. Afghans top the table. Per capita they are 7 times more likely to be sex offenders.

Ask whatever AI or search engine you like, dig into the details, dispute exactly how much more likely they are to rape - but the reality is that they ARE more likely to rape.

The Sky News article you refer to talks about the unreliability of the data.

The article shows how unclear the data is.

Do you think it's the government's fault when white British men rape kids, too?

Because that happens a great deal more often than kids being raped by refugees. There will be hundreds more sex crimes committed by white British men than by Afghan refugees.

The Daily Mail wouldn't even bother reporting this case if the defendants were British, and if they did, they'd totally be blaming the victim. They only give a shit about women and girls when it gives them a chance to stir up racist reactions.

Per capita ain't registering?

Per capita on a sample size of 19 men means fuck all.

Of course. But there is no suggestion that people witnessed the crime and did nothing.

Afghan migrant rapes are readily preventable by not having Afghan migrants in this country.

British men who are scum have right of abode here as British citizens. They should be in jail.

If British men are all that bad (vast majority are lovely) then there's no need to import even more men from one of the most patriarchal societies where women are treated even worse than in the UK. There's literally no reason to make things even worse.

No we have far too many, but let not add any more to number.. shall we?

This!
We have enough of the men in this country attacking women and girls why should we accept more?? The bleeding hearts would soon change their tune if it were them or their own daughters
These men who attack women and girls are primitive they genuinely believe females are lower than them so they do as they like.
As another pp stated, this country is finished.

Ah the person who ignores every single study that shows elevated SA and crime rates among foreign migrant in Europe. Even when those studies adjust for age and gender the elevated crime rates still show but that's of no consequence to you is it?

We are frighteningly aware of how many horrible, scumbag, white British rapists there are. It's not a competition. We have enough of them. And these are ones brought up in a civilised society where they are well aware of how wrong rape is. Why the fk would we welcome in hoards of men from uncivilised societies who believe this is a perfectly normal part of life. To rape and beat women? Especially without checking and verifying exactly who they are, and whether they already hold criminal records or are known to be dangerous.

It has nothing to do with being white, brown or black. And everything to do with coming from an environment where it is commonplace to beat and rape women. An environment where they are taught that western women are less than, and deserve to be beaten and raped because they don't cover every inch of skin and hair.

I don't understand why there are women here who want to make things even worse.

LoudWriter · Yesterday 17:42

I know people are saying that others shouldn't have been expected to know anything 'off' might be happening as the assault happened in the toilets, but the fact that the rapists would have been obviously older than the girl, and most likely of a different race (there was no mention of her race, but it seems likely that if she were also not white that would have been mentioned), I think you'd be lying if you said that wasn't enough info for you to think something a bit dodgy might be going on. They were hardly likely to be her brothers. At the very least, my warning bells would have been going on and I'd have been tempted to keep an eye on the situation.

SilenceInside · Yesterday 17:44

@CakeAndEats no one wants to make anything worse. You want a total ban on men from specific countries entering the UK. That is not a realistic policy that would stand up to international law and it would have detrimental consequences for many legitimate asylum seekers and others. Can you explain how you think you could work this sort of blanket exclusion?

SilenceInside · Yesterday 17:47

@LoudWriter I know you and we would all like to think that we would have been the ones to notice a problem, intervene and rescue this girl. Based off the very limited information provided we have no way of knowing who was there, who saw what and what opportunities were missed. It’s just a comforting fantasy to think we would be different and be able to spot the issue and successfully intervene.

brownbootsandhats · Yesterday 17:49

Hoards of men from uncivilised counties

shoukdnt we be taking the blame for that ? For the way we have meddled in their politics , invaded , try to enforce our rule, at the sam time teaching then our language and singing the praises of our country

Laurmolonlabe · Yesterday 17:55

This is a negative news story about immigrants in the Daily Mail, the chances of it being accurate are slight.

I get that, but I also think it sounds like there were plenty of red flags in this case. Unless we were there to see how busy the train was, who they walked past etc. I think it's hard to know how preventable this particular incident could have been. I've seen for myself people ignoring situations on public transport- isn't it called the bystander effect? So although I wouldn't be shouting to blame any people on the train and would hope no-one who was there does blame themselves in any way, I don't think there's any harm in questioning all avenues of how these things can come to take place.

Having these men in makes things worse though doesn't it?

International law can't control us. We have domestic British law we can pass.

The USA has a blanket on one many nationalities entering.

@LoudWriter as I already said upthread the list of things that need questioning, for me, based on the limited information in this article don’t include the other passengers at all.

Girls 11-14 being picked off our streets at the rate it's happening, is a new issue. But we've always had sex offenders, so mostly MN looks the other way.
@Laurmolonlabe it happened as reported.
https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2263125/afghan-migrants-rape-autistic-girl-train/amp

I could tell the story of what I witnessed today, but there's no point, it won't be believed. Nor will what a fairly local street has had to put up with for weeks, including parents organising patrols of the area to keep their girls safe. It's ended by one of the men in the HMO stabbing himself and setting himself on fire. All in front of children.

@CakeAndEats having any men enter the country makes the chance of sexual assault and violence increase. So maybe no men at all should be allowed to enter the UK for any reason? That would be the safest thing, and anyone allowing any men into the country would be making things worse. A rational policy do you think?
