Shocked that no one helped the girl on the train

14 year old SA in trained

I am being unreasonable in think people need to stop being so absorbed on their phones whilst out in public. It seems no one helpped this child whilst she was being raped because they were too busy on their phones.

Autistic girl, 14, 'sexually assaulted on train by Afghan migrants'

Baryalai Rahimi, 25, and Mirebadurahman Sadat, 29, are said to have spotted the runaway teenager at a station in rural Kent before following her onto the London-bound train on February 5.

You're ignoring all the data from the Swedish government then?

I've responded.

Muslim women who don't wear the hijab are committing a sin in their religion

The bible states if a woman doesn’t cover her hair to pray she should shave it off because she would be disgracing herself …

Women in Afghanistan are enslaved, imprisoned in their homes and their black robes, without rights or education, forced into sex, sold into marriage and beaten by their men with impunity. Are we to pretend that the men from this culture suddenly and magically change, as they set foot in the UK? Because that would be denying the reality of those Afghan and other women, who live as men's property.

After reading the article, the questions that I would be wanting to know the answer to are nothing to do with what other passengers on the train should or shouldn't have noticed or done. I am much more concerned with the background as to why a vulnerable 14 year old autistic girl was apparently a "runaway" in the words of the DM, and travelling alone.

I also am concerned about what this girl has been taught (or not) about safeguarding herself as her words make it clear that she finds it hard to say no to men and didn't have any appropriate strategies to get help once she felt unsafe. So many things that clearly have gone wrong in this situation. None of which involve the other passengers.

Autistic girls are well known to be significantly vulnerable.

These men would have known full well they had an easy defenceless, victim at hand.

No, the Qu'ran doesn't mandate the hijab, it's up to women to decide for themselves.

You should probably explain that to all the imams in Iran then - it's truly fascinating that you understand islam better than they do.

You are trying to dismiss her experience though as if it is a one off.
Thats where you are in the wrong.

No I did not.

I just said that is 1 example and I have thousands and you can’t base statistical data on 1 persons experiences.

I never said what she went through didn’t happen - that would be dismissing it.

I am simply saying that from my thousands of experiences of rapes/sexual assaults - the ones from immigrants are not as common as what the media would have you believe (although this thread has now moved on to Muslims being to blame).

But all rapes/sexual assaults are a problem.

What I do have a problem with is people suggesting that others don’t care about certain crimes, simply because they don’t blame an entire community of people for the actions of very few.

It happens a lot on here but also in RL.
Without being too outing, we were doing an event for women who are victims of grooming. We were approached by right winged men who were in ‘support’ of us, until they found out our victims were mostly affected by white men and suddenly we were the targets because apparently we didn’t care about the victims of Asian grooming gangs (even though they were there too).

TO PRAY (and most christian women no longer do that, even in a church.)

You do understand that is not the same thing as a 16 year old girl, Amita Geravand to name just one, being beaten to death for not having her hair covered ON A TRAIN, right?

What about the thousands of British white men who go to south east Asia to rape and abuse children, teenagers and women?

Men ≠ religion.

Do the fundamentalist Christian men in the USA using Christianity to take away women's rights represent Christianity?

No, the verse doesn't say it's limited to church services.

And also the consensus of the sunni scholars as well... Like what is this nonsense.

OneAlertOliveFinch · Yesterday 22:18

I wouldn't even reply to these trolls here. They'd be defending these men if they got harassed themselves. Love the double standards of ignoring actual data but then blabbing about reform convictions with drum roll please.... no evidence.

No, the verse doesn't say it's limited to church services.

It does ffs.

The direct commandment in this verse is that
Christian women in the first-century city of Corinth must wear a head covering when leading prayer or speaking in church.

Edited

These are the scholars and well versed experts of the religion.

OneHazelBird · Yesterday 22:22

Why can’t people just start their own threads instead of jumping on one about a young girl who got raped by 2 men and instead of feeling any sympathy for her, they use it to push their own narrative.

Just start your own threads ffs.

Are they running the country according to that religion?
Do they have a police force that arrests and sometimes kills people who fail to follow their religion?

If not, they can live however they want IMO. It's the forcing other people that bothers me.

There are many of us who love Italy and have great experiences there.

I'm sorry that you experienced this..but would you rather be in Rome/Milan or Kabul?

Which verse is that? Google says verse is below:

“Every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head...”
1 Corinthians 11:5

Bit of a ridiculous comparison. Western countries have largely made Afghanistan what it is.
